More Outrageous Pictures from Alive Museum

Petting the girraffe

Petting the giraffe

Being at the Alive Museum last week as part of my birthday celebration was really fun. Here are some more pictures that we took that day.

This year Tiger girl and I got to be up and close with a giraffe. Last year when we were at the Trick Museum at Jeju island we took a similar picture but with a  dinosaur instead.

This year Tiger girl was more cooperative and was willing to take posed shots as compared to last year. She was even rushing with her brothers to get her photo taken!!

I guess being 3 years old now as compared to 2 years old last year does make a lot of difference in a child’s behavior.

The boys had lots of fun too posing for the different curated shots.

They loved this set up as they got to swing wildly  back and forth on the  rope. I had to make them stand still or else I wouldn’t be able to get a clear shot of them.

Do you have a museum like that
in your area?

Jex Malone by C.L. Gaber & V.C. Stanley

Jex Malone by C.L Gaber & V.C. Stanely  is a story about what happened when Jex went to stay with her estrangled father, a detective,  during the summer.   She was very reluctant to spend the summer with her Dad as he has been vastly absent from her life so far since her parents divorced.

It was the first time that Jex was up in Nevada for the Summer. She  thought that she was certainly going to have the worst Summer this year being stuck with her dad and without her friends. Little did she know that she would have the time of her life, make new friends and even solve a  13 year old  case which her dad had been working on for years.

Arriving at her dad’s place, Jex soon got to know the neighbour girl Cissy and her friends. Together the four of them form a secret detective agency and worked together on a high-profile unsolved case of local teen Patty Matthews’ disappearance 13 years earlier.

Even though the case has been classified a “cold case” the girls managed to find new information and even the missing girl Patty in the end.

My Thoughts

It has been quite a while since I last read a detective novel. I really enjoyed reading this one that was pitched at a young adult. I love how the plot developed and how the mystery got solved in the end.

I’m certainly getting my tween to read this book himself so that he can enjoy the joys or reading a detective novel.
