Clouds

Looking at the clouds in the sky  gives one a sense of peace.  The stress of everyday life temporarily fades away as everything else pauses for a moment.  I love capturing the  fluffy white clouds in the sky  as they float pass. The different designs that they take on only makes the landscape all the more spectacular.

It would certainly be extremely nice to be at this place this very moment. I can only imagine how cool it would be and what a drastic difference from the intense heat that we have been experiencing here in Singapore.

Doesn’t the picture above look picture perfect.  It would certainly make my day if I can wake up and view the scene above. It  is one of the dreams that I have to be able to escape to the countryside now and then and enjoy the slower pace of live there.

Meanwhile I just have to be contented with viewing the clouds among the high rise buildings in our metropolitan city.

Do you like looking at clouds too?

Writer’s Workshop: Munching on Cupcakes

Red Velvet Cupcake with Cream cheese topping

Red Velvet Cupcake with Cream cheese topping

It has been a really long while since I did any baking at home. I have been trying out different dishes like homemade noodles and other meals instead of baking. The kids too are not really into cake and I’m cutting down on serving sweet desserts at home and eating more healthily.

Tiger girl has been recently interested in Red Velvet cupcakes so I decided on baking some for her.  This type of cupcake has been gaining popularity in the local cake shops and I have seen it for sale at many places.

A Red Velvet cupcake doesn’t come cheap. Prices range from $2.50 to $6.00 depending on how fancy the shop is.  This was the first cupcake that I saw Tiger girl happily munching into and eating up the whole cupcake by herself. She normally doesn’t really eat cake as she doesn’t fancy sweets opting for savory most of the time.

It was highly unusual to see her enjoying eating cake so much that I decided that I should bake some for her since she liked eating it so much.

Unfortunately when the cupcake was served to her she only  ate half of it and was more interested in covering it with colorful sprinkles then eating it.  I guess that I should just focus on savory dishes instead as it would certainly score a higher satisfaction rating with Tiger girl then with cupcake. The boys did help me eat up the rest of the cupcakes though so it wasn’t a wasted bake.

Do you/your kids love eating cupcakes?
