Writer’s Workshop: Munching on Cupcakes

Red Velvet Cupcake with Cream cheese topping
It has been a really long while since I did any baking at home. I have been trying out different dishes like homemade noodles and other meals instead of baking. The kids too are not really into cake and I’m cutting down on serving sweet desserts at home and eating more healthily.
Tiger girl has been recently interested in Red Velvet cupcakes so I decided on baking some for her. This type of cupcake has been gaining popularity in the local cake shops and I have seen it for sale at many places.
A Red Velvet cupcake doesn’t come cheap. Prices range from $2.50 to $6.00 depending on how fancy the shop is. This was the first cupcake that I saw Tiger girl happily munching into and eating up the whole cupcake by herself. She normally doesn’t really eat cake as she doesn’t fancy sweets opting for savory most of the time.
It was highly unusual to see her enjoying eating cake so much that I decided that I should bake some for her since she liked eating it so much.
Unfortunately when the cupcake was served to her she only ate half of it and was more interested in covering it with colorful sprinkles then eating it. I guess that I should just focus on savory dishes instead as it would certainly score a higher satisfaction rating with Tiger girl then with cupcake. The boys did help me eat up the rest of the cupcakes though so it wasn’t a wasted bake.
Do you/your kids love eating cupcakes?

The cupcake looks really good Sis, It’s one of my family’s favorite dessert because of the idea of individual serving and less mess than the cake. Advance Happy Birthday Sis:)

That chocolate cupcake looks scrumptious. It’s good to eat healthy, but a red velvet chocolate cupcake is good for the soul.

I think everybody loves this though we should limit it due to its calorie content. Happy birthday, Dominique!

My kid does love eating cake, but not as much as I do. I actually stopped baking at home because I couldn’t stop eating all the goodies I was making. Lol.

Ha! Ha! Of course! There isn’t one family member, or friend that I know of that doesn’t enjoy cupcakes! Best treat ever! So many styles and flavors and toppings so little time to have them all! Yikes!

Oh yes, my son loves cupcakes and that’s his frequent snack in school. That’s why his dad keeps on baking cupcakes 🙂

Cupcakes are a definite favorite in our house. Bug (my youngest) and I have the sweet tooth of the family. We love trying weird combinations of flavors.

no children here. But I don’t get too excited about cake. Always skip it, for birthdays at work. Now pie, I’ll eat! {:-D

I think cupcakes are marvelous!
It is probably healthier though that she doesn’t like them!
I’ll be happy to eat her share, though!
Thanks for a fun link for the letter M.
