Under the Tent at Chimelong International Circus

Chimelong International Circus

During our recent trip to Hong Kong/ Guangzhou we went up to Chimelong Paradise in Panyu District, Guangzhou to watch the Chimelong International Circus.

It was the 2nd time that I’ve visited that circus and the first time for Tiger girl.

We were watching the night show that day. The arena filled up rather quickly as it was free seating inside the big tent.  We managed to get seats in the area nearest the stage on the sides and had quite a good view of the stage.

The Animal Parade

The Animal Parade

The 1.5 hr long show had animal parades, trapeze acts, clown shows and acrobatics.

I tried to take photos with the Cybershot but they turned out pretty blur as it was quite difficult to focus with the limited zoom. In the end I used my HTC camera phone instead to take some pictures and even short video clips.

Here are two video clips which I took.

Have you been to the circus lately?

Blooms at Hong Kong Wetland Park

Last week I brought the kids to the Hong Kong Wetland Park.  It was a great opportunity for them to get close to nature as we live in a metropolitan city full of high rise buildings.

It was the 2nd time that they have visited the park. The last time we visited the park was 3 years ago when Tiger girl was in Hong Kong for her 1st birthday celebration.

There has been quite a bit of changes in the park since our last visit. There was significantly lesser insects around and we couldn’t spot any birds. I guess that the summer heat of 33 degrees Celsius was keeping the animals away in hiding.

It wasn’t easy to zoom in an take photographs as my trusty DSLR was on holiday with R in N Z. I had to make do with his Sony Cybershot with it’s limited zoom range.

I had to literally place the camera at the flower to get a good close up of it.  We didn’t stay long at the park as it was getting extremely hot by midday and the kids and I decided to call it a day and head back to some air-con comfort.
