Trying out different foods with the kids has always been a enjoyable activity for us.  As the kids grow older they are more open to the different tastes available. Their increase in  curiosity  about the various types of dishes  and appreciation for fine cuisine has significantly magnified from the time they were toddlers.

Food placement is certainly very important when presenting a meal. Tiger girl was really thrilled when breakfast was served to her at the Hello Kitty restaurant at Terminal 3, Changi  Airport.

I had waited 5 months for the hype to die down before bringing her to this theme restaurant for a meal. It was certainly worth the wait as there was no queue and we had a quiet and cozy breakfast that morning.

Eating out is really costly here in Singapore so when the kids and I have most of our meals at home.  I’m still tweaking the meal composition to ensure that everyone has the right amount of carbs, proteins and other nutrients to remain healthy while switching the meals around.  Here was my attempt in introducing purple cabbage to the kids.

This is one of my all time favourite fruity salad that only takes minutes to put together.  It has become one of my staple dishes which I have for lunch.

  1. It’s awesome that your kids are willing to try new things. So often kids get stuck in a rut only eating what they are familiar with.

  2. Too bad, I only read your post today. We were in Changi Airport last week and I have no idea that there is Hello Kitty Restaurant.
