Birds, Dolphin and Duck
Duck in the water
A few months back R was off to Europe on a business trip and he took along my DSLR (Romeo) with him. Here are some shots which he captured with the camera.
The duck above really looks like those wooden ones that you see on top of a mantelpiece don’t you think so?
Dolphin swimming
R managed to capture this swimming beauty while on a boat trip. It’s amazing how they effortlessly navigate through the water while swimming in schools.
Birds in a V formation
I found this shot really cool. It’s interesting seeing them forming a V like pattern while flying. I’m not sure if it is really for aerodynamics purposes or just for safety issues that they are flying in such a pattern.
Another flock of birds
I couldn’t really figure out this pattern as it looks like either an arrow or the outline of an aeroplane.
Have you snapped any pictures
of animals lately?

I love the quality of your photo especially the duck. I caught a photo of some ducks cleaning themselves after a rain.

Fun shots. I love the dolphin shot. One above and one below the water, at first I thought it was a reflection.

All of these shots are great, but the one of the dolphin is amazing!

Wow….you could have some competition on the camera angle!!! As to geese (and other birds) forming the v-flight, that is both navigational and, it has been discovered, ‘community aid’… each bird takes turns at being leader, 2nd, 3rd…etc down to tail. Aerodynamics are such that the further down the line you are the easier your flight due to ‘draughting’…cyclists use this for example on endurance runs; if you watch a ‘skein’ closely for a period of time you will note the lead bird dropping back and the next in line taking it’s place. …. (I do have another life!!!) YAM xx

@Yam,
Thanks for the information about the flight patterns of birds. R too loves photography and often takes my camera when he is off on business trips 🙂

Yep, the duck does look just like the wooden one, but it is the dolphin that is my favorite.

Great shots, love the colors in the duck picture.

Nice photos. I love the duck. It looked like she posed for that photo. Anyway, I haven’t taken any photo of animals. Daddy do most of the picture taking and he’s been fascinated with the sky as evident on his recent photos.

No I haven’t but we did watch a huge vulture at the bus stop today.

Nice capture of animals in the wild. In recent weeks, I snapped photos of ducks on the water, and a mama duck with her ducklings. I know I shared the mama duck with her babies in one of my photo posts. I would like to shoot more images of animals, but it’s difficult to happen upon them. Have a fototastic week and happy #WW!

Thanks for these great shots. I’ve only snapped some pictures of our cat this week. I regularly see lots of Canada geese on my walk to work, so would like to take some photos of them. Wishing you a happy WW 🙂
