Pork Chop Burger and Rice on a Friday
Pork is one type of meat which I do eat when I am out. I personally do not really cook it except to add flavour to the Chinese soups which we boil at home. Another reason why it rarely makes an appearance in our household is that the kids prefer eating Chicken or Fish over it. I cook a variety of chicken and fish dishes at home to suit the palette of everyone at home.
This pork chop bun was ordered at the Xing Wang Hong Kong Cafe which we visited for lunch during the weekday. I wanted a meal that was less filling and this item on the menu met my requirements. Doesn’t it look yummy?
This dish was also ordered during one of our weekend lunches at Kim Gary Hong Kong Restaurant. I would really love learn how to make these pork dishes so that I can replicate them at home. It is something else on my to-do-list on items I would like to cook this year.

It’s the same in this house, Pork rarely makes it through the door, but is ordered quite often when we are out.

Interesting, never thought of a pork chop burger. We haven’t eaten pork in a while now but we may give this concept a try. Sounds delicious especially if grilled.

I just bought some pork today. I am so fortunate to live very close to the University of Arizona “Meat Laboratory” where you can purchase meat that was raised locally. I bought grass fed beef and lamb in addition to the pork. I also bought some bok choy to make a “Chinese” meal with the pork tomorrow. And of course, I also bought some bacon. Although I only eat pork and pork products occasionally, it is something I enjoy and brings back fond memories of my childhood.
