Black Pepper Fried Rice and Hotpot Rice on a Friday
Black pepper beef fried rice
A few weeks ago I managed to arrange a date lunch with R. We went for lunch at Downtown East during a weekday. It had been an extremely long time since I last had lunch with him as he has been flying around for business and was seldom home. It was good to have some couple time even though it was just slightly over an hour.
Hot Pot Fried Rice
I ordered the black pepper beef fried rice while R opted for the Korean Chicken Fried rice that was served in the hot pot.
Our drinks
As it was an extremely hot day we ordered ice-drinks to go along with our meal. He had lime juice while I had blueberry juice. I love how they coated the mugs with a ring of salt. It makes the beverage all the more classy.
What did you eat the last time you went on a lunch date?

It’s also hot here in the Philippines. Your drinks look so refreshing. I wonder what the salt can do with the drinks or it just a presentation?

I wonder how the blueberry with salt taste like. I miss eating out and trying different kinds of food. 🙂

what is the purpose for coating the mug with salt?

@Shook,
I think it is more for decoration or additional “kick” to the drink as I do see they add a ring of salt for most alcoholic cocktail drinks.
