Blooms and more at Tulipmania
Close up of a red tulip
Last week I brought Monkey boy to the Tulipmania at the Flower Dome. I have been wanting to see the 20,000 Tulips that were imported for the display from Netherlands. The flowers really very colourful.
Monkey boy posing in an over-sized pair of clogs
We saw the trademark Holland wooden clogs and couldn’t resist to take a photo with it. I love the drawing on the shoes.
The “sea” of tulips.
There were many lovely tulips and they were of many different colours. The tulips filled up the entire basement of the Flower Dome.
A red bloom
One of the red blooms which I saw. I love how it looked in full bloom with the petals ruffled.
Yellow Tulips
I love the vibrant yellow of this tulip. It really does brighten up your day if one were given a bunch of these tulips on a special occasion.
Windmill among the tulips
Looking at the windmill reminded me so much about the time I had in Holland when I visited the country when I was a teenager. I’m hoping to be able to bring the kids there one day.
Mixed coloured bloom.
A lovely two coloured bloom. The light parts of the petals are accentuated by the dark pink giving it more volume and a better visual appeal.
Pink blooms
These pink blooms were very pleasant to the eyes. I wouldn’t mind having a bunch to put on my dining table at home.
Were you looking at any flowers this week?

Lovely tulips! It is one of my favorite type of flowers, but it is so expensive and it doesnt last very long in a vase.
The boy saw your photos on FB yesterday and he is bugging me to bring him there…Looking at your photos sure motivates me to want to check it out myself soon!

Beautiful! Are they still in pots? Amazing how they have transported so many flowers in one place for the exhibit 🙂
Btw, have you tasted Prima Taste’s Laksa? I love that very much. Unfortunately, it is not available in here 🙁
May 8, 2013 @ 8:10 am
@Farida,
there were in pots when they were transported but have been planted into the flowerbeds at the Flower dome.
I have tasted Prima Laksa before and actually you can get them at handy packs here in the supermarket in Singapore.

I just came from a visit to New York City and there were tulips everywhere – all over the part of Brooklyn I was visiting, and even beds in midtown Manhattan. I’ll be blogging about that later this week. I liked your pictures, especially of the peony tulips. Daffodils do better here in upstate New York because deer don’t eat them, but enough people still plant tulips here.
