Writer’s Workshop: My Love a Letter to You

Writers Workshop: My Love a Letter to You

Tiger girl and Me

Dear Baby Girl,

It has been 2 years and 4 months since you entered in my life. You  have brought so much joy into our lives since you arrived and everyday spent with you is certainly a great blessing from GOD.

You have blossomed from a baby to a toddler and now am a really articulate kid. You know what you want and will go all out to get it.  You are able to strike up conversations with anyone and also hold your own opinion.

I love to see the smile on your face when you wake up in the morning and hear your sweet voice as you greet me “Good Morning Mummy!!”  Hearing your innocent laughter and seeing your many achievements really brightens up my day.

My little girl, my mini me. Someone which I can share my love for doll houses and Hello kitty with.   My own daughter which I can doll up with all the sweet and pretty pinks and purples.

Someone who shares my love for chocolate and ice-cream and would willingly go out for Hi-Tea with.

Your mummy loves you dearly and wishes the best to you in all your future endeavours.

Lots of love,

Mummy

Do you write letters to your kids too?

What would you write to them about?

So sweet! I have not written letters to my son, but you have inspired me to start.

Hi Dominque, she is sure growing since the last time I visited, I can tell you really enjoy her!! Happy Valentines!!

  4. Adora

What a nice letter. Do you comobile them for her to read when she grows up? I have a book for each of my girls and I write in them periodically. Kind of like a diary of sorts, or a big pile of letters! I intend to give it to them when they turn 16 maybe.

    1. Dominique

      @Adora,
I do have a blog actually where I post all my letters to my kids online. They too do have their own books where their milestones and other major events are recorded in with some love notes :)

Yes I am still writing a love letter but on the paper anymore. I write it on my blog or FB. Hehe. Your letter is so sweet and I am praying to have a mini-me too.

I don’t. I am not sure why either. Maybe I will try now that you’ve written such a nice one to yours. I would like to tell then how much they mean to me and how much they play in the role of motivation.

  15. Laura

So very sweet! I have tried to write memories of my kids, but never thought to do it in letter format.

  16. Tracy

I have suggested to a friend who does not have custody of her sons to write a journal to them so that when the truth comes out they will know that their mum loved hem and thought about them always

Do text messages and facebook posts count? Lovely letter!

    1. Dominique

They certainly do. My kids are not old enough for a FB account so we are sticking to letters for the moment :)

Hi, great letter! Loved it! I too, wrote a Valentine’s letter to my 2 daughters, except they aren’t 2 anymore (sadly), but grown women. Here is the link should you want to check it out:

Okay, my kids are now grown, one has a child of her own. Still when they were little we ‘forced’ them to write thank you notes to everybody–including parents–at Christmas time and Birthdays. We all continue to do it…my point is that so many amazing things have been ‘shared’ in those letters.

I had one daughter that really loved getting letters from me. She would carry them to school with her and keep them in her book bag. She was a teen at that time and I was a single parent of four. I wanted to maintain a bond with her even though I had to work second shift.

yay, so sweet note for your baby girl, when my kids started to read i also give them short love messages

  22. Scudds

Aaah! You are such a sweet mum and the letter is sweet too. I do write now and again but you’ve inspired me to do it more often :) Thank you x

    Hugs,

Lovely tradition…my kids are all grown and , while I never wrote to them, I made sure they knew how to write a good thank you note….expressing gratitude is a skill best learned while young♫ Happy week-end♥

    Such a beautiful love letter.

I write little notes to them that I usually place in their lunch kits.

I would write pretty much anything and mostly encouragement or apologies if I was mean by shouting at them etc.

    Happy weekend to you!

  25. Jenny Matlock

    What a marvelous idea!

For such a wonderfully sweet little girl!

You are such a neat Mom!

    Thanks for linking.

    A+
