Blueberry Pancakes and Red Pepper Soup on a Friday

Blueberry pancakes with chocolate sauce
The past month I have been trying out cooking more varied dishes for the kids to eat. Doggie boy loves eating blueberry pancakes from KFC so I decided to make my own blueberry pancakes for him at home. It is certainly cheaper making the pancakes then eating them outside. With the same amount paid for 1 pancake breakfast I could make enough pancakes to feed four!!

Red Pepper Soup
I saw this recipe in the Food for the Brain cookbook which I purchased last year and decided to try it out. It wasn’t a hit with the kids but I’m determined to try it again in a few months. Maybe the next time I will put less pepper in the soup.

The pancakes look so yummy! I just spent a fortune for pancakes at IHOP, which I totally regret. Home made pancakes are way much better, yummier and of course cheaper!

Isn’t it the truth … for the price of buying something “out”, one can make a LOT at home. And, I’m betting the homemade version doesn’t include a lot of “junk” or unknown chemicals. Nice! The pancakes look delicious!

My kids love pancakes too, but my eldest doesn’t like blueberries. I have yet to let my two younger ones try blueberries. Like on cheesecakes, hehe!

Agree with you that making your own is a lot cheaper than eating in the resto. I love doing my own stuff in the kitchen.

Wow! I’m more of a soup person. That looks so yummy! I haven’t been cooking because I am not really good at it. I agree that rather than getting it from the restaurants you can make your own and it’s cheaper too! 🙂

You are definitely right, it is a lot cheaper to cook than to eat out. Your pancake seems very yummy so I’m sure your kids loved it!

i wish blueberries aren’t expensive, would love to make my own blueberry pancakes, too. so true, it is indeed way cheaper cooking it ourselves…plus we know what ingredients were added (no extenders or unknown preservatives). that red pepper soup looks yummy!
thanks so much for sharing and linking over at Food Friday, Dominique

Same here, pan cakes are my daughters favorite and we always cook it at home. But I never tried yet the blue berry variant. Might be really delicious as I looked at it on your photo.

The red pepper soup looks delish (the blueberry pancakes are inviting too, don’t get me wrong). I’ve been looking for a good recipe for this, will have to track down the cooking for the brain cookbook.
