Mini Blooms and Cactus
Mini Yellow Blooms
Ever since I got my macro lens a few months back I have been using it to snap pictures of blooms, the kids and also food. It does take time getting used to a fixed focal length and learning how to manually adjust the settings on the camera. Here are some close up shots which I took on our recent vacation in Malaysia.
Pink blooms
With smaller flowers one has to really get up close to ensure that the details of the blooms are being captured. Sometimes the shots do not turn up as crisp as I would like them to be. As you can see the focus is better in the yellow blooms above as compared to this picture of the pink blooms.
Bougainvillea
Sometimes it can be quite hard to spot the flower especially if it is hidden among the coloured leaves like the bougainvillea above. You really need a keen eye to be able to spot them and zoom in on it.
Flowering Cactus
Sometimes you can find blooms in the strangest places. This was the first time that I saw a flowering cactus. Most of the time I only see the prickly green leaves of the plant.
