Last week was a busy learning week for me. I attended my first creative makeup workshop. The makeup artist showed the audience how to create a simple yet interesting look for Halloween.
The make up on the model
Doesn’t she look really cool with the face art ? The design was drawn on with eyeliner and eye shadow only. Impressive isn’t it?
This look is certainly doable and I’m sure that I’ll be able to recreate it with sufficient practice.
Fried Udon Noodles
What is having a learning experience without good food to go along?
Fellow Mary Kay Beauty Consultant J and I had a quick meal at Sushi Tei before our class . It was great to be tucking into a plate of fried udon as it has been ages since I had that dish.
J and me at the event
Both of us learned quite a bit that evening like how we can prep the skin properly before putting on such makeup and which colors complemented each other.
Trying out a new look with braided hair
Besides learning how to do creative makeup we were also shown how to braid and do up your hair for the evening. I tried out the side braid the next day to see how I look at it. I wanted to create the medium wavy curls using the curling iron I had at home but failed in my attempt. I guess I need more practice using the the curling iron if I am to create wavy hair at home.
Waffle instead of the normal burger bun. This is a new concept to me. Monkey boy and I had dinner at Griddys at Westgate and we both found the concept of having waffles for dinner instead of just a dessert or breakfast . ( You do remember I serve ice-cream with hello kitty waffles for breakfast during the school holidays )

I find it really refreshing to have waffle in so many dishes and I may just “copy” the idea and add bacon and egg to my hello kitty waffles the next time I make waffles for the kids.
Can you guess what we are baking in the oven?
I’ve been seeing many new dishes being shared around on Facebook and decided to try this out. Do you know what we were making for breakfast?
This is what we were making – Cloud Toast!! You just need to whip the egg white till it’s all light and fluffy, set it on a piece of toast and plop the eye yolk back in.
It taste pretty yummy and the kids were happy to take a bite when it came out of the oven.
Hong Kong Style French Toast
This is one of my favourite breakfast items and a must have if we do travel to Hong Kong. French Toast which is made with peanut butter toast covered with egg and pan fried.
