10 Things I learned in 2012

the kids and me 2012 has really whizzed passed so fast. We are already more then halfway through November and heading for December pretty soon. Last week I gave a breakdown of activities which I would be doing with the kids this holiday. I also recounted my top 10 not so distant memories that I had this year.

In this post I will be mentioning the 10 things that I have learned in 2012

  1. It is important to go with the flow and be adaptable. Sometimes you can plan activities for your kids but they may not appreciate or enjoy what is being scheduled.
  2. GOD is great.  He has opened up new doors for me this year and introduce me to a great bunch of mummies via SMB.
  3. It is possible to work from home and at the same time juggle the schedules of the kids and household solo.
  4. Having everything in moderation is the best way to go. To deprive a kid or yourself will only make you yearn more for it and it’s not healthy.
  5. Having a planner on the go is a great asset for a busy mom. You can look at all the appointments and important information that you need at one glance.
  6. Sticking to a diet and eating in moderation is SUPER HARD WORK!! I’m only managed to maintain the current weight at 64/65kg and YET to get down to ideal weight.
  7. Investing in a  good camera does do wonders for the type of photos that you can take. I’m learning a lot everyday on how to improve on my photography with my DSLR.
  8. Being a WAHM is one of the best jobs I had so far and am loving it. It is so much less stressful and more meaningful then a corporate job in the workforce.
  9. Best things in life comes in little packages. I’ve blessed to have 3 of my own.
  10. Being positive does help you get through the toughest days and there is certainly light at the end of a dark tunnel.

What have you learned in 2012?

Bounce Bounce Around this Monday

Tiger girl bouncing Tiger girl enjoyed herself tremendously on the trampolines when we were at the Angry Bird Space Preview last week. Seeing her having so much fun bouncing around.  Bounce, bounce, bounce all around the trampoline which resembled a crater. Obvious of everyone else around her. Soaking in the moment and having fun. Higher and higher she went as she bounced harder on the trampoline. I had to ensure that she didn’t bounce out of the trampoline or to the sides and injure herself instead.

Looking at her having fun reminded me of the need for one to have fun. Play is an important part of their growing up and it helps them build up their character and fine tune both their physical and mental capabilities.  Many time we  as adults dismiss the need for us to take it easy and  take time off to play too. We should too as adult learn how to  take some time to indulge in play too.  It would certainly make a day pass easier. I certainly do take time to play with the kids.

Do you indulge in play?
