Writer’s Workshop-Getting into 2014
Mickey Mouse Statue
As we ring in the new year it is the time to set new resolutions. A few days ago I posted about my thoughts about 2013 and 2014. I had been focusing a lot on the family and this year my focus still remains the same. Last year I managed to cross out most of the items listed on the Resolution list. I am hoping to do the same this year.
This year I am intending to do more things for myself and pursue new areas which I have yet to try out.
Resolutions for 2014
For Myself
1. Try out even more recipes from the cookbook collection which I have in the cupboard. My aim is to eat more healthy which is to cut down on all the carbs, processed food and other unhealthy foods. I didn’t manage to lose any weight in 2013 and have still aim to get down to 60kg by year end.
2. Study/Read up more about photography and other techniques which I can implement to bring my photography skills to a higher level.
3. Brush up on my Chinese, French and Japanese.
For the blog
1. Increase readership and traffic even further. To concentrate on other social media outlets besides Facebook in my marketing efforts. With the constant changes in Facebook algorithm I have realised that it isn’t time effective to focus so much on that particular marketing channel and growth rate in the fan base there has been rather slow. My revised target would be to grow it to 12.5K from the existing 11.4K fan base.
2. To get more sponsors/campaigns and increase the blog earnings.
3. Start a new series on the blog
For the kids
1. Do devotional readings and exercises with twice a month.
2. Pray together before meals.
3. spend time with each kid 1-1 daily.
For us as a couple
1. Go on kid free dates as often as possible.
2. Spend more time communicating with each other.
3. Go on a couple holiday.
What are your resolutions for 2014?

What marvelous, well thought out resolutions you have. You are quite an inspiration to me and I bet to many others as well.
I started a new series on my blog with the October Ultimate Blog Challenge and I polished it into what I am doing now… feels so great. I look forward to see what you come up with this year, too!
Happy Blog Challenging!

This sounds like a great plan. I too am looking to improve my readership, after several outages between Thanksgiving and Christmas my stats took a tumble. I am working on recouping the loss and hope to find new readers. Thank you for spending 2013 reading and enjoying each others post. Cheers to more networking for 2014.

Your resolutions are great…I really encourage you to be faithful to the prayer before meals. Our adult children now pray in restaurants and know that every meal at our house begins with prayer! Many bloggers are beginning to prefer Google + over Facebook. FB has many challenges associated with it. You might look into Google + ….there are many mommy groups there as well.
Thanks for joining us in the blog hop!!

Honestly I am not much for resolutions. It sounds as though you are fairly organized and realistic in yours. I chose a theme of spriituality and being in the present rather than anxietal about possible futures I may have little or no power over.

Ugh, I have GOT to get back to trying recipes again. I felt like we ate so much better when I did that! I wish I had photographic skills. I’ve wanted to take classes for many years! I’d love to learn Spanish in case I go back to Peru again on a 2nd mission trip. I think having devotions with my boys would be awesome. Sounds like some awesome goals for you, your family and your blog! Blessings!

Wonderful goals! You have such a nice balance among them…

Great resolutions that are entirely doable! I love the ones for the kids…. spending time with each child is important, as are the devotionals and prayer. Sometimes it feels easier to “double up” on the time with kids but I think you are wise to make individual time for each. Have a great New Year!
