10 Things I look forward to seeing Doggie Boy doing

Doggie boy

Doggie boy

There are many things that I wish for my child Doggie boy in particular.  He is more sensitive then his elder brother and not as outspoken and outgoing.  Both brother’s characters are polar opposites and it takes him a long time to digest information which has been taught to him.

Nevertheless I am looking forward to the day where he be able to do the following.

  1. Cook me dinner
  2. Willing do his homework without procrastinating and be happy to study.
  3. Having fun and playing with his siblings without squabbling.
  4. Pursue his dream with passion.
  5. Find love and best friends.
  6. Be good in swimming
  7. Enjoy playing the piano and music.
  8. Speak fluently in Mandarin and  Cantonese
  9. Be at peace with himself.
  10. Be able to cope and  be independent.

What do you look forward to seeing your child do?

Book Cover

Sticky Icky Booger Bugs by Sherry Frith is a picture book which gives children a clear idea of what cystic fibrosis is. Based on a true life story on her son Kory, Sherry shares with her readers about how she and her son copes with this progressive disease.

Both Sherry’s sons, Kory and Kevin, were diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. Through the picture book she gives a clear explanation on how they cope  with the disease and enjoy doing what other kids their age do. It is possible for kids with cystic fibrosis to live a near normal live and keep the disease under control.

Through illustrations the reader follows Kory through one day of his life from when he wakes up in the morning and have his medication till the time he falls asleep at night.

My thoughts

I found this book really informative and read it together with my 3 kids. The explanation given about cystic fibrosis  together with the illustrations makes it easy for  even a young child to understand. It is a good tool to help explain this disease to a child and get them to understand how it is possible for kids with cystic fibrosis to lead normal lives.
Having learned about the amount of medication that Kory had to take on a daily basis they  are even more thankful that they are healthy and treasure their health even more now.
