Writer’s Workshop: Very Fun Being a Kid
Being a kid is certainly a lot of fun. The world is so big and interesting and there are so many things which you can discover. Every day is a learning experience and one can indulge in all the fun activities day in and day out. There is no need to worry about anything and playing part of your JOB as a kid.
Sometimes one really wish that it is possible to go back to being a kid and be free of all the worries and stress of being an adult.
Here is a list of 10 things which I miss about being a kid.
1. Getting to eat whatever I want and not having to worry about putting on weight.
2. Being able to play the whole day.
3. Getting presents and treats all year around.
4. Being able to say.. “Mummy/Daddy carry me” and get out of having to walk the whole distance home from the supermarket.
5. Getting to go out with friends after school to have fun.
6. Being easily satisfied and enjoying the simple things like a packet of potato chips.
7. Not having many responsibilities
8. Going on holidays every school holiday.
9. Getting ferried everywhere by my parents instead of having to drive myself and the kids everywhere now.
10. Being able to fall asleep anywhere and you will “magically wake up in bed.
What do you miss about being a kid?

Among other things, I miss drawing on the pavement with chalk. But apparently now, I may be considered a vandal : http://www.gingerbreadmum.com/2013/10/to-chalk-or-not-to-chalk.html

I have many fond memories as a kid…I miss my dad for one thing. When he passed away, I had to “grow up” fast and take on some of the responsibilities in the family.

Sadly, I cannot relate to number 1. I was (still am) a fat kid! Hehe. What I miss the most would be the fact that my biggest problem was missing my favorite cartoon shows!

Oh, I miss eating everything too!!! Seems like I eat 1/10th of what I used to and still can’t lose the weight my kids gave me. 🙂 Great post! Thanks for sharing!!!

Oh yeah I miss being a kid and being able to do all those things. LOL What I don’t miss though is to ask permission for things that I want to do. hehe

I miss all those things too! I loved being able to go play outside for hours and hours with not a care in the world.

Arrgh yes the joys of being a kid – Being driven around all over the place and not having to decide what’s for dinner!

I agree with so many on your list: having someone to drive you everywhere (I HATE driving!), being easily satisfied and content and absolutely YES! on being able to eat whatever and not gain weight!!

I can’t believe I forgot to mention the eat whatever I want thing as something I miss. I was skinny with a big appetite until I was 15. Great list. M

This list is so funny and so true! We enjoyed the simplicity in life and the little things a lot more as a kid.

I miss the innocence and freedom. You really have no idea how good you got it being a kid until you grow up.
Great post!

Nice list♫ My kids played “pilot” in cardboard boxes, and now one of my sons is an aeronautical engineer and he got his pilot’s license when he was 17♫

All of these reasons bring back very fond memories of childhood…
The thing I valued most about being a kid is having a vivid imagination… Or perhaps that undying curiosity!
Thanks for linking to the letter “V”!
