Writer’s Workshop: Right on to it
Dear Kids,
while you are at school it is really a scene of serenity at home for me. For that 1-2 hours break that I have from all three of you I get to do the following.
1) Watch my Korean drama online without interruptions while having lunch. So Ji Sub of Master of the Sun is really a heartthrob.
2) Plan what to cook for dinner.
3) Read a book
4) Catch up on the never ending housework.
5) Blog and complete my online work.
6) Go grocery shopping or run errands which need to be done.
7) Browse and read blogs or do some online surfing.
8) Take a short cap nap or bake something in the kitchen.
What would you do if your kids are at school?

Wow! You do a lot within that 1-2hrs!
How do you watch Korean drama and do the other things like read a book, blog…. at the same time?

shook,
I may not get to finish the whole book. I will just read a few chapters or even one chapter if .i get the time. I spend about an hour watching the show if there is time or fast forward through it while having lunch. 🙂 or hanging up the clothes.

I might spend the entire time watching korean drama and get nothing else done. =X

You’ve done so many things for the almost 2 hours break from your kids. It seems that mothers like us need that break every day to accomplish more things.

Thanks Glenda,
We can really do more without the kids distracting us every other minute.

I have a little less than one year until both my boys will be at school, and I think most of all I relish the thought of going to the grocery alone. It’s the little things…

I agree with the others, you are able to squeeze in quite a number of things :o) Our three are all grown, married and in their homes of their own…and since we moved, I have not been working full time yet, so it has been wonderful to be able to get settled into our new home and keep up with my art orders and sewing and the day to day house cleaning :o)
Also, what a cute photo of you and your little one on your profile pic.
Blessings & Aloha!

@Maria,
Thanks.. I don’t do every single thing on the list everyday but a few and within the given time I get as my eldest comes back from school at different times on different days while #2 is in afternoon session and #3 is at Nursery.

I find myself trying to be very organized with my time while the kids are at school, in order to make the most of the quiet in the house. I have a detailed schedule. I don’t always follow it to a “T” but I try very hard to stay on track!

I have a ways to go yet before my little starts school, but he usually naps for 2-3 hours in the afternoon and it’s AMAZING how much I can get accomplished in that time. Usually the items that top the list are preparing his next batch of baby food (we make our own purees!), putting away dishes, baking or cooking something for our own dinner, making a cup of tea and catching up on my blog reading and posting! 😉

Wow, you are very organized! Even with that extra time, I don’t believe I’d get nearly as much done! Great post.

My kiddos are grown up and I work full time, but evenings are quiet and uneventful. A little cooking, a little wine and early bedtime…

Wow, you are far more productive than I am. Admittedly, I still have a kid with me while my other in school right now, but the best I can do is grocery shopping!

@Melinda,
Grocery shopping is really a challenge with kids in tow.. It can be a nightmare if I have to bring all 3 out with me too buy food. Luckily at the moment their schedules all overlap so I have the 1-2 hr window period each day 🙂

I don’t have kids yet, but if I’ll spend 1 or 2 hours alone, I’d probably just blog and blog and blog! 🙂 Hehehe. It’s sometimes hard to concentrate on blogging when hubby is around.

@Lady Anne,
I agree that it is hard to concentrate on blogging especially if you are blogging on a heavy topic or have to process a lot of photos for that particular post.. Having people around is VERY Distracting. 😛

I just had to google So Ji Sub since I wasn’t familiar with his work. I learned that he started as a jeans model. And, yes, he is a cutie!

What is important is we would make the most of our time! I actually could stay in the computer the whole day… like now when the Zamboanga Crisis came and our work time is relatively less than before the crisis! I now have the time to blog and finish the Commex!(lol) My son is already out of Zamboanga but even when he was here, I was already a workoholic (and also his Dad!) but since he was always with us wherever we were, he got used to the situation!

My kids have all grown but my days would usually have consisted of running errands and refreshing things around the house…
Now that they are no longer at home, I try to get as much rest and relaxation as possible… Although some days I still run around like a chicken with it’s head removed… (((winkwink)))
Remarkable post for the letter “R”!
