ITADAKIMASU(いただきます)- Let’s Eat Up

IMAG0614 ITADAKIMASU(いただきます)  Lets Eat Up

My kids love Japanese Food and  were thrilled with the fusion cuisine that was served for dinner yesterday.

IMAG0615 ITADAKIMASU(いただきます)  Lets Eat Up

They had cod fish, steamed mixed vegetables, garlic mash potato, chawamushi and jelly with fruits.  It was great seeing them diving into their dinner once it was served. They only took 1/2 the time they normally took to complete dinner and they had extra telly time after dinner.

The meal took me about an hour to prepare and cook and the kids only took about 30 minutes to finish eating it. Dinner with the family was hassle free last night and I didn’t even have to bring out the Chocomisu which I had stored in the fridge to entice the kids to eat.

What have you been cooking for the kids lately?

    I can’t ever recall having anything like this. Definitely would be something I would try though. The last thing we cooked was spaghetti and meatballs for my son. One of our favorites!

    What a sumptuous dinner! The happiness thing for a mom is to watch kids gobble up the food she prepared in a short time frame.

    My boys love Western food.

      @Jellybean,
      That’s steamed egg (chawamushi). It’s quite easy to make and takes only 10 min in the steamer. Ingredients are egg(beaten), water, a bit of mirin(Japanese rice vinegar), fish stock, soya sauce + fishcake, mushrooms.

    Thanks for the recipe. I’m eager to give it a try.

    I hope someday I can visit a Japanese restaurant here in Dubai. Those photos looks yummy. If I were to choose is the best, I would still prefer Asian cuisine :)

    I will try make the combo of corn, peas and carrots for breakfast. It’s very colorful but until I get healed from a digestive disorder, I will have to delay this recipe.
