Writer’s Workshop: A Treat for Father’s Day
Father’s day coming soon on the 17th of June. I don’t have anything special lined up for that day at the moment as we would be most probably catching up on sleep after returning from our short vacation which we have planned.I’ll be spreading out the treats and gifts for the following week instead.
Being a father started for R on the 5th of March 2004 with the birth of our 1st born- Monkey Boy. At that time he was a newbie to fatherhood and it was a great learning experience for him. Fast forward to 2012 he is now a pro at diaper change and getting the kids ready and fed before we have to leave the house. I’m glad that he is a hands on daddy and that he does help out in the household and with the kids.
Here is my list of 10 things I would like to give him for Father’s day
- A date out with me without the kids.
- Bake his favourite chocolate brownie.
- Cook him a 6 course dinner.
- Time off to play his Diablo 3 without the kids interfering.
- Time alone to bond with each of the kids.
- Write him a love poem and post it to his FB timeline
- Watch a movie together
- A body massage
- A new handphone which he has been eying.
- A father’s day card made by all of the kids.

What a wonderful list – even if you can’t manage some of them, just knowing you want to do them for him will be a treasure!

@Linda,
all on the list are achievable but maybe not possible within a single day that’s why I give myself a week 🙂

Will you adopt me as your wife-man? I’d really love to get a 6 course meal.
You sure do know how to spoil him don’t you?

@Kimberly,
If you are around in Singapore I’ll cook you an extra portion of the 6 course meal. 😛

Very nice list. I think I will steal a couple of those ideas, if I can ever get to them.

we have plans to tackle our roof. it’s in need of repairs. so getting the roof will be his father’s day gift. We have a date this Friday, but sounds like we’re taking the kids too…they like the place.
I know, it sounds unromantic, but this is the way I am treated too, so I don’t want him to miss out. 🙂
What makes him special? There are lots of things, he is a remarkable man. One of a few million – I wish god make more of him, so that women can feel like women. He is understanding, a great friend, a smart person, a human…

In my experience anything served with brownies is bound to be appreciated. 🙂 🙂

What a thoughtful list! I haven’t even thought about Father’s Day yet – Australian/US Father’s Day isn’t until September, so I have plenty of time. I’ll be telling myself that the day before, too…

I like to give a body massage because it’s so relaxing for him.
=)

What a lovely list for your husband! Mine just requested lemon meringue pie, so I’ll add that to the menu plan this week. He is a great dad…helps me multiply my patience and soften my hard edges.

Gosh!
This sounds like an amazing list for such a great guy!
I hope you get to do ALL of them for him!
And then maybe he’ll do something similar for Mother’s Day after your inspiration!
Thanks for a cute link for Alphabe-Thursday.
