Aloha~ End of Holidays

The school holidays are finally over and it certainly feels like I have been tackling Mud wrestlers that we saw at Wetland Park while on vacation in Hong Kong. I’m glad that the boys will be returning back to school next week so that I can get back to having time to doing regular exercise and concentrating more on Tiger girl.
The kids have been home with the cough and cold and it has been really exhausting taking care of all three. I’m really praying that they can get well soon as for the next two weeks I’ll be parenting solo again as R departs on his next business trip.

I have a Spanish song which is one of the default ringtone on my Nokia. I don’t understand what the song is about but very few people use it so it makes it easier for me to know when the phone rings.
2. What is your favorite memory from this summer?
It’s summer all year round here. I guess the best would be getting the house all renovated and all the new gadgets installed.
3. Paper books or ebooks?
I like a combination of both. However I’m leaning more towards ebooks for myself.
4. If you could have one home upgrade what would it be and why?
We have just got our kitchen and living room renovated. All that we needed to get fixed has been fixed. All equipments at home are relatively new- washing machine, refrigerator, oven, television, sofa etc. I’m thinking a new car would be great 😛
5. When was your first serious boyfriend/girlfriend?
It was when I was 17 and in University.
My questions this week
1) What do you cook for your kids who are sick?
2) Are you for natural healing or visiting the doctor at the earliest chance?

1) I usually make chicken soup with rice for my children when they are sick.
2) I always allow nature to take its course, and doctor would be the last step if the sickness needs antibiotics.

Depending how sick they were, I would make a hearty chicken soup or a light Lipton Noodle. I am a more traditional medicine believer.

Sounds like you had a great time. I’d love to go to Hong Kong some time for a holiday. I’ve always wanted to, but never really done anything about it.
1. I cook chicken soup. It’s the best healing food.
2. I try natural healing first. I don’t trust doctors as I’ve had negative experiences with them.

I usually make some sort of chicken soup when they’re sick (or whatever they want, just so they eat something!) 🙂
I usually try the natural mode (with some assistance with over the counter stuff), but will call the doctor if a cold is lasting longer than 10 days, or if they have a high fever, or if their snot turns that funky yellowish-green color (I know, TMI!) since that usually denotes the need for antibiotics. 🙂

1) My phone is almost always on vibrate.
2) Fave memory of summer – just the laid-back lazy routine with my kids
3) Paper books!
4) I REALLY need a new dishwasher and a would love to have new living room carpet
5) My first serious boyfriend was at age 17 – and we’re now married 20 years!

I hope everyone is starting to feel better.
1. I cook regular food if they aren’t throwing up. If they are having stomach issues, I’ll do a brat diet.
2. We don’t have the money to visit doctors so it’s the natural route unless it’s something awfully serious!
Aloha!

I cook porridge and some perilla mint Check this post: http://www.selfsagacity.com/2010/09/sate-shrimp-in-porridge-and-healing.html. I have been a little on the sick side since Monday, caught it from the oldest kid. It really stinks because you feel like you just want to lay down, yet you can’t. Wish there is such a thing as a caretaker for sick moms. 🙂 Depending on how severe the sickness is, I usually like to use natural herbs for healing, but don’t get me wrong, I do take the drugs on top of that too.

Thanks for the recipe. I’ll check it out. I too hope that there can be caretakers for mums. We mums are not “allowed” to fall sick..

Eggs are popular for sick kids.

Wish your kids speedy recovery
1. Normally soup noodles for my sick child.
2. I prefer natural healing but my kids will let me know when they need to consult Dr. They know their body well.

Thanks.
I normally cook what they like to eat when they are sick. I too opt for self healing before seeing a doctor.
