10 Recent Pictures of My life with Kids

Life is certainly really packed with kids around. Here are some snippets of the pictures which were taken with my handphone.

The kids main mode of transport to school and back. Their own private seas in our car.

This term Monkey boy will be spending more time in the kitchen as one of his jobs will be to cook some of the dishes for diner 2 to 3 times a week as part of his holistic learning experience.

A really rare find. $0.20 kiddy ride at the market. Tiger girl was happy to go on the ride 3-4 times instead of once like she is normally allowed. Most kiddy rides cost between $1 and $2 per ride which I feel that it is too costly for a ride.

The boys saw an Aeroplane exhibition at Terminal 3 over the weekend. They were giving out paper planes for the kids to play with.

We celebrate Great Grandma’s birthday together in a restaurant on the weekend.  It is great the the kids get to know her while growing up.

This year we have adjusted the kids schedule so that we leave Sunday free for our family. It is less stressful and we have more time to do activities as a family.

The kids enjoy eating out on the weekend. If we do go for a meal at the Xin Wang Hong Kong Cafe Doggie boy would order his favourite luncheon meat  noodles.

The kids are certainly eating much more. The boys get hungry really quickly and I see myself feeding them every 3 hours or so.

I can only see myself spending more and more on groceries as the kids grow.

Spending bonding time with my eldest over a meal after school. I do try to bring them out individually for meals during the weekdays if there is time and the budget allows for it.

10 Things we did at the Central Fire Station

An ancient fire engine

An ancient fire engine

A few weeks back we took the boys on a visit of the Central Fire Station. It was the first time that they were visiting a Fire station museum and were excited to see what they had on display.

The fire service has really evolved a lot throughout the years. There has been a lot of changes in the design of the fire engines these few hundred years.

What may have been the first fire engine pulled by a horse.

What may have been the first fire engine

1. We saw what may have been the first fire engine which was run on an engine. I’m not sure how fast they could put out a fire with such a machine back then in the olden days.

2. We saw how the fire engine had evolved into a bigger vehicle with an increased capacity of water which they could carry around.  It too could ferry around the firemen together in the vehicle.

3. We saw the various attachments that the firemen used when they were out fighting fire.

4. We saw a mannequin dressed up in a fireman’s attire and took the opportunity to explain to the kids why it was important for the fireman to wear such a suit for protection.

5. The boys had fun dressing up as firemen. Tiger girl wanted to do likewise but she was too small to fit in the costumes and had to pass instead. This was the 2nd time that they tried out dressing like fireman. The first time was back in Kidzania Korea while on holidays last year.

6. The boys tried out the simulator where they got to use a water gun to fight the fire. It was great fun and even R had a go at it.

Searching for survivors

7. The kids saw how dogs were used in search and rescue missions to find  survivors in the wreckage.

8. The kids also saw many toy fire engines which they wanted to purchase and bring home. Unfortunately they were all not for sale.

9. We watched  the clips of the Bukit Ho Swee fire which caused massive damage back in the 1960s.

10. The kids learned how important it is to keep our house and surrounding free of fire hazards and how to react if a fire does break out.

Have you brought your kids to a fire station before?
