Food Trip Friday

Dim Sum on a Friday

During our road trip to Malaysia we had Dim Sum for breakfast while we were in Kuantan. We saw that they offered Tim Sum for breakfast  at the Chinese restaurant in the hotel we stayed in and tried it out.

Har Gao

Har Gao

This is one of the kids favourite item- Har Gao which is shrimp dumplings. Even Tiger girl wolfed down 2 of them by herself. She is really growing an appetite for Dim Sum.

Xiu Mai

Another regular item which we order when we have Dim Sum is Xiu Mai. These are filled with meat and decorated with fish roe on the top.

The food was not as fantastic as expected and I’ve tasted better Dim Sum in Singapore and Hong Kong. However, it was adequate to fill our tummies before we moved on for the day’s activities. Maybe I should try to make my own Dim sum for the kids one of these weekends.

Do you like Dim Sum too?

Seafood and Deer Meat on a Friday

Creamy Butter Prawns

During our stopover at Port Dickson we had one of the most delicious seafood dinner on our road trip.  We opted for seafood at a seafood restaurant as it was a coastal town which we were at.

Black Pepper Dear Meat

Black Pepper Deer Meat

This use to be one of my favourite dishes when I was a kid but I seldom get to eat it now as it is not  readily available in Chinese restaurants nowadays in Singapore.

Deep Fried Fish

Deep Fried Fish

Fresh fish that is caught from a tank and cooked immediately upon selection. It taste really yummy and the skin was crispy. We are already planning another family trip to Port Dickson for the food and some  beach fun. Can’t wait!!

How do you like your seafood?
