Writer’s Workshop: Zooming back to the time

Travelling back in time

Travelling back in time

It has always been a wish of mine to travel back in time.  It would be really nice to be able to go back in time to the period in time when I was a university student.

I remember when I was studying in the University of Melbourne I used to walk down alleys like the one pictured above.  I was happy and carefree and could spend my leisure time reading of just hanging out with classmates.

Looking at the stone brick walls of the Arts & humanities faculty while just lazing on the green lawns having a sandwich for lunch.  It was really very relaxing.

This time around I would sign up for more units in the Arts faculty instead . I would like to pursue my interest in  Photography, IT and languages.

I do not regret taking  a Bachelor of Commerce  and if it could have been  possible I would take a double major instead to give me more flexibility of career choice.

I would be more daring and sign up for more varied activities to take part on campus.  Join more different clubs and groups to get to know more people and widen my social circle.

I would like to have started work in a  different field. Maybe even try  a  marketing job  which allow me to travel and visit different places on the job.  It would have given me  a perspective of the corporate  work culture and do  work in a different industry.

If I had the chance I would love to have the opportunity to work abroad  while doing freelance photography.

What would you have chosen differently if

you were able to travel back in time?

Next up on the blog is full time mom, Nadia from  www.itchyfingersnap.blogspot.com, who blogs about random stuff that tickles her fancy. When asked about being a time traveller, wonder where in time she’d like to travel to? Perhaps a place not too long ago, yet familiar enough to ignite her dreams! Read on 🙂

Writer’s Workshop: My Xtra Special Moments of Joy

R and me

R and me

Spending time with the one I love brings me much joy.  Last weekend  I flew over to where R is working to spend some couple time with him.   It was my special time together with him.

The last time we met up was in February when  we had our Valentine’s Day couple getaway before returning back to Singapore together  to celebrate Chinese New Year with the family.

Joy is ……….

being able to spend time with the one you love. Walking hand in hand basking in the setting sun.  Admiring the view as you feel the sea breeze blowing against you.

Joy is ……….

Soaking in the lights and panoramic view  while having a romantic dinner at the top of a hill.  Taking in the wonderful sight of hundreds of lights dotting landscape. Each of them representing a street light or a building in the valley below.

Joy is ……….

Having a peaceful night sleep without being disturbed by the kids.   This is really something that I have been dreaming off and it was really a  JOY to be able to experience it during this trip.

Joy is ……….

Enjoying myself  playing with bubbles and soaking in a tub  while blowing bubbles like a little girl.  Experiencing the fun that I used to have back then as a teenager.

Joy is ……….

Being a tourist and walking along streets reminiscing how it was back then in the 60s and 70s with shops that still were kept in its original condition selling olden day treats.

Joy is ……….

Celebrating your 14th Wedding anniversary 2 months in advance by making your own unique anniversary present at a jewelry making workshop.  We  made our own rings after selecting the pattern from the samples that we were given and did the engraving  all by ourselves under the supervision of the teacher.

It was certainly a really unique experience and a priceless gift which would be treasured forever.

What is your Joy in the present moment?
