Writer’s Workshop: Being Thankful

The kids playing with their dad

The kids playing with their dad

It is Thanksgiving this weekend.  Many families will be gathering together to  give thanks  for the blessing of the harvest and of the preceding year.

Even though it is not a public holiday here in Singapore for us as a family we will be coming together to give our thanks to  GOD for all the blessings that he has showered us this year.

This year has been quite challenging for me with lots of changes in schedules.  Changes of school and work environment had caused plans that I  previously made to go haywire. I’m glad that things have settled down and everything is falling into place so far.

This Thanksgiving I’m grateful for all the gifts that I have been given from the almighty father.

I’m really thankful that the kids are healthy and they are enjoying their childhood. They are able to  a balance of study and play daily  which is very important in my opinion.

I’m  blessed to be able to witness the milestones that the kids have reached as I work from the house. I don’t have to regret missing their growing up years as I get to experience it first hand.

I am thankful for a husband who places the family high on his priority list. Due to his work commitments he is frequently away from home but we do keep in contact almost on a daily basis through Whatsapp and Viber.  The kids and I get to share our  daily experiences through photos and short videos.  This has helped us to remain connected even though we are physically far apart.

R is a very involved dad and does read up and put into practice best practices that he comes across which helps build up  resilience in our kids. He is also my best tag team partner and #1 supporter  in all my endeavors. I’m really thankful to have him in my life.

What are you thankful for?
