Writer’s Workshop: Work In Progress
Hi, my name is Dominique and I am a Work-In- Progress. I don’t know if I’ll be able to become a completed work of Art and I’m sure that only GOD knows the answer to that.
I’m constantly looking at how to improve my existing skill sets and increasing my knowledge. Every day is a learning experience for me and I hope to be able to impart what I have learned to the kids so that they too can benefit from the knowledge gained. I’m working hard at being a better mom and partner.
At 36 years old I can’t say that I have gathered extensive knowledge in the areas of parenting, education or household management. However whatever little I do know I have shared and documented here in this blog through the series that I have written so far.
I have categorized the things that I have learned based on the format that they were presented to me – book reviews, personal experiences and even travels.
If you are a more visual person it may be better to check out my Pinterest Boards where you can see first hand what I have been doing this while. You can also view snippets of my daily life which I share on my Instagram .
I’m still learning how to be more grateful about the blessings that I already have received and to be contented with my lot. How not to be envious of others who seem to be doing better then me and to reduce comparing myself against them. I know that it is easier said then done and it can be a recurrent battle that I will face. However with determination and GOD’s grace I’m sure that I’ll succeed.
I’m constantly tweaking what we serve for meals at home to ensure that it is both healthy and yummy for all to enjoy. It is an uphill tasks with the increasing number of foods that have become unfit for consumption due to human manipulation.
I’m also creating experiences for me and the kids so that they will have memories to look back on when they are all grown up.
How do you define yourself?

I don’t think that we were ever meant to stop evolving and growing. That is the beauty of life, there is always open roads ahead of us and we need to take them when the opportunity arises. I think that you’re phenomenal in that you continue to expand on the things you love. You’re setting a great example for your wee one 🙂

I think we all tend to look in the wrong direction at times. There are always people that have more materialistically or who have lives that seem to go so well. However, if we stop and look in the opposite direction there are many more that have less or have lives with more sadness and turmoil than ours. It’s just the direction we chose to look. It’s taken me a while to learn.

Nice post, Dominique. I once attended a function where buttons were given out, they were GINFWMY or something like that for ‘God Is Not Finished With Me Yet” the best I can remember, but I think there were less letters somehow. Maybe it said,

I am glad you are actively working on being a better, more developed person. My life has just been a ‘roll with the tumbles’ sort and now I think I am stuck being like I am. Many people are like that, even younger people (I’m old).

I am continually improving my self just like what I wrote in my latest blog. Even though I have lots of flaws, I am happy with my self.

Introspection like this is the only way to truly grow. People who are willing to look at themselves, flaws and all, are the ones who improve their lives. Those who refuse to look, never do. Cute pic of you and your daughter!

Every day is a self discovery. No one can define you but yourself. Continue doing what you do best with Christ’s guidance.

At 37, I do not have extensive knowledge about anything at all. I still love learning, trying new hobbies and exploring the world we live in. I am also trying to be fit and healthy. Ironic because twos days into getting on a fitness challenge, I starting coughing. Hopefully, I can go back to exercising soon.

I have been really frustrated trying to figure out which foods are okay to consume and which are not…I wish the US would be a little more strict about what they allow.
