Family Bonding over Laundry
Having three active kids can be a handful at times. They go through a few changes of clothes each day as their clothes get easily stained by food spills or soaked with their sweat from running all around. The laundry has to be done daily or else there would be mountain loads to tackle each week. As a family of five the laundry basket gets filled very quickly and I have to ensure that the clothes are put to wash each morning before the laundry basket starts to overflow.
Tiger girl is a real little diva. She insists on changing her clothes a couple of times a day especially if they get slightly stained with food or wet due to spills during mealtimes. It’s really shocking that at 23 months she has more dresses and clothes then I have and her wardrobe is filled to the brim with clothes. Talk about being spoil for choice on what to wear.

To make my laundry workload easier I have been getting all the kids to help out. The boys help to hang up/take down the clothes after they are washed or dried. Tiger girl is a bit too young to hang up the clothes independently so she is assigned the task of carrying the freshly laundered clothes from our laundry area to the sofa after they are dry. She also loves unloading our washing machine after the clothes have been washed.

Her brothers too are not left out as they are quizzed on the spelling of the different clothes and asked questions on what is the most efficient way to hang out the laundry.
Tiger girl is now able to identify most of the items and who they belong to. She too knows most of her colors especially the colours red, pink and purple. Doggie boy is able to spell more words relating to clothes and Monkey boy gets a lesson in strategic planning. It’s great to see all the kids learning while having fun helping out doing the laundry.
