3-2-1 Penguins Complete Series 1 DVD – A Review

DVD Cover
3 2 1 PENGUINS: COMPLETE SEASON ONE is the latest DVD that the kids and I got to review. By the same folks, Big Idea Entertainment who brought you the Veggie Tales this series really captivated my kids from start to end. The 2 disc 13 episode (which last 20 minutes each)  DVDs packed in 4 hours and 46 minutes of entertainment for the kids. The episodes were originally aired on NBC on Saturday mornings back then.

While on a visit grandma’s house the siblings Jason and Michell found a spaceship in the attic. Since then they have been recruited to join their Space Penguin Pals Zigel, Fidgel, Midgel and Kevin in solving intergalectic crisis that had been faxed to Penguins. While on these missions they also learn valuable character lessons along the way.

This series is not based on bible stories but there is emphasis on different values like the importance of being honest, caring and helpful.    The bonus features of  how to draw Midgel, talking to aliens ,Midgel’s cool blue fuel recipe and  make your own planet are great additional and follow up for the video.

My Thoughts

My boys loved watching the series with the bonus. They are asking to watch the DVD almost daily before heading for bed.  The episodes are both humorous and full of adventure with a lesson on morals being taught. A great combination of fun, entertainment and learning.

I do recommend that you pick up a copy of this from Amazon for your kids.

Weekend Reflections: What is your must have foods?

Ham and Eggs

Do you have a must serve staple food in your weekly menu? Is there a must have food that the kids request over and over again? The boys love eating ham and egg. We serve this as one of the dishes for dinner quite regularly during our weekday dinners. It is fast and tasty to eat with rice or noodles.

The kids love eggs so I cook  variety of eggs for them throughout the week.  Sometimes I fry the egg sunny side up, scrambled or have it poached. On other occasions I make chawanmushi if we are having Japanese food that evening. We normally have egg as one of the dishes together with a side of vegetables. The kids are not really meat lovers but I do make sure that they do get chicken and fish to eat at least 2 -3 times a week.  I also try to ensure that they have a balanced diet with lots of fruits and vegetables.

I would like for the kids to try out a great variety of foods however they are not as adventurous and still quite young I am holding back cooking more spicy and differentiated foods for them to eat.

What do your kids love to eat?
