New Shoes and Jiro on a Monday
We recently purchased this new pair of shoes for Tiger girl as her existing pair of shoes was getting worn out. I make it a point of only purchasing a new pair of shoes for the kids once their current pair is getting too worn. I do not want them to think that they are entitled to many fancy pairs of shoes or new shoes as and when they see the need for them. They only get 1 pair of shoes each which is replaced when it is worn out.
Tiger girl came along to choose her shoes when we went shopping so that she can choose her own pair of shoes that would be the best fit for her. She choose the pair shown above as she was attracted by the bling on it. It also was a perfect match for the light pink Hello Kitty dress that she was wearing that day.
I believe that it is important to teach them the value of money from young and motivate them to strive for the things that they want. They also need to learn how to appreciate the items that they have and use them with care. Many a time kids are careless with what they have or do not learn how to appreciate the gifts that they are showered with as they are given too much and too little a time to savor them.
How do you teach your child then value of money?
Here is one of my favourite songs from Jiro Wang Dong Cheng a Taiwanese Singer with his latest hit.

We do the same about shoes, clothes, school bag, and other stuff. Only buy the bare minimum and only replace when the existing one has wore off or couldn’t fit. Simplicity living :))

He’s a new one. The videos are always so awesome. Thanks for sharing. I think I like the groups better, but this guy is good too. As far as teaching my children about money… being a single parent to four children we struggled and we all pooled together. If one had something they all had it, and if we couldn’t afford for all we didn’t have it and they understood. Sometimes one would get something and the others didn’t like at birthdays and one thing my children may have been naughty at times, but they were good to each other and shared very well. Sharing was never a problem in our family.

Those shoes are too precious! My kids know that for the most part, they only get what they need. They don’t get to make a great bit long list of “wants” on their birthday or Christmas. But the biggest lesson is showing them how little someone else has; so we sponsor a child in El Salvador.
I am really starting to dig this kind of music!

That’s how I do it honey. One pair at a time and they choose. We have a tight budget and they better wear them to the nub.
Nice tune.
Enjoy your week girl!
