Birthday Cake on a Friday
This week has been a busy time for me. Tiger girl celebrated her 2nd birthday in school and wanted a cake which had all her favourite characters on it. I decided to make a cake with Pororo, Hello Kitty and Angry bird. The cake was baked the day before and decorated on her birthday itself. It took me about 3 hours to model the figurines out of fondant on her birthday itself.
The smile on her face and sparkles in her eyes were enough proof that she loved the cake. She couldn’t wait to cut it when I took it out from the box.
This year we managed to get a family photo celebrating her birthday. Last year R was away on business trip and could not be around to take photos with her on her birthday.
The cake looked small but it was big enough to share with all her schoolmates who were present that day.
Tiger girl really enjoyed eating her cake as much as I enjoyed baking it for her.

I am always fascinated to moms who know how to bake a cake. This is a very sweet treat for her. My mom used to do that also when we were young.

Wow, three hours of preparation is no joke! It must taste good too 🙂
Happy birthday Tiger Girl!

@Farida,
the decoration part was tedious as all the characters had to be moulded by hand piece by piece. It only took about 1 hr to bake the cake.
September 14, 2012 @ 10:12 pm
Great job on the cake!!! And Tiger Girl sure looks like she loved the cake. 😀 I wish I can bake a cake (a real cake) for my kids someday. The only thing I can manage now are those oven toaster cake mixes you just add eggs, water, and oil to and pop into the oven toaster. 🙂

@Olga,
Thanks. I’m sure you be able to bake a cake for your kids. It’s not that difficult actually. The complicated part is the decorating.
