Meet Me on Monday- Party Season On

IMAG0111 Meet Me on Monday Party Season On

Last weekend the kids were invited to a birthday party. It has been awhile since they have attended one and were glad to be invited to my friends son’s 1st birthday bash.  1st birthdays are all so special. Even though the child is technically too young to remember or to enjoy his 1st birthday but it does bring back a lot of warm memories when one flips through the photo books to reminisce on the joyous occasion.

We only threw a first birthday party for Monkey boy when he turned one. For Doggie boy and Tiger girl we opted to bring them on a trip back to Hong Kong to celebrate with the relatives there instead. There wasn’t any fancy birthday party or programs specially chosen to mark their turning of age but we do have tons of photographs taken with relatives and friends who love them.

This April we are starting of the week with a whole week of giveaways here on Dominque’s Desk. I have already listed three giveaways- Eraselets, UGLEE pens and Therapon Skin Products. I will be adding more giveaways as the week progresses for all my beloved readers.

1. Did you prank, get pranked or ignore April Fool’s Day?

No I didn’t carry out any pranks or get pranked. It was a normal day for us.

2. What is the most unusual thing you have in your pantry or refrigerator right now?
It would be the Hello kitty and Thomas the train pasta which I bought to cook for the kids.

3. If you were in the “Miss America” (or another) talent competition, what would your talent be?
I have never taken part in such contests but I guess it would be singing, playing the violin or piano.
4. What is one thing you miss about being a kid?
Having everything taken care for you and not have to worry.

5. If you HAD to change your name, what would you change it to?
I can’t really think of any at the moment but I may add on R’s surname to mine.

I love first birthday parties too! My youngest turns 7 tomorrow so we had a family party this weekend and they are always so much fun!! The kids always enjoy them too. You are right, very sweet memories!!! Thanks for the smile!

First birthday parties are always so much fun! Love your song choice, too! :)

Ah April Fools…we received two prank calls from an inebriated fellow just after 1 am…not cool, especially with a baby in the house and I had been working all day on our oldest son’s bedroom reno. We didn’t do any pranking, I think those calls took away the fun for us this year (my husband is a wonderful practical joker, never mean, always fun). We are heading into birthday party season in our house, my son’s preschoolk class has 5 kids with birthdays this month (his included). Should be fun…and a lot of cake!

Funny, I didn’t think Hello Kitty and Thomas shaped pasta was strange but maybe that is me.

  8. Teresa Kander

I love the idea of the cartoon character shaped pasta…and bet my grandson would, too!

I was more family oriented with the birthday parties too. We keep it close. I think when they are older…maybe teens I”ll try to throw a party fo them.

Love this song. Makes me want to play the piano.

Interesting answers too on the MMM

Enjoy the rest of your week

Your kids are adorable! I remember my son’s first bday party. I made non-toxic finger paints. It was very special. : )

I love celebrating birthdays too. I have two April babies so Its a big month for us. I think its wonderful that you took your other two children to celebrate with family in Hong Kong! Fun for all!

So cute! For my daughter’s first birthday, we had a huge family party. She was entirely overwhelmed and wide eyed the entire time. The first birthday celebration is I think more for the parents than it is for the child. Haha!

What a beautiful video and a very pretty song, and I know what he’s saying is cool too. So pretty. Thanks for sharing. Have a rocking week and naturally I love the pic – what’s the matter with the baby? She looks like she’s about to cry. Maybe just tired, huh? Have a great week.

      @Xmasdolly,
She was tired as she missed her afternoon nap so was a bit cranky that day.

First birthdays are so special. It seems like yesterday when we celebrated our children’s first. Now where has the years gone? They certainly do fly by like a kite in the wind. Thanks for sharing yet another new song. The music is really beautiful!
