Hoppity Hop Around the Park

These few weekend we are attempting to visit more parks in our sunny island of Singapore. There are many parks which I haven’t been too or haven’t been there in a long time. It is good to get some exercise as a family on the weekends. We use to go rollerblading before Riona was born. However since  R hurt his knee in a fall and with my phobia of  sustaining injuries due to rollerblading we decided that walking or cycling would be more appropriate.

This week being a long holiday week we went to Bishan Park. I remembered that R and I visited the place more then 10 years ago. I remembered that there was lush greenery and lots to see there. We were rather disappointed when reached there as the park was under construction. The lakes were dried up and they were re-planting the grass.  Apparently only the food establishments were opened at the park and we had our brunch there. The boys did manage to play in the newly renovated playground there. They enjoyed the digger contraption which they had . It really could scoop up sand with the flick of a lever. It’s really cool!!  The renovations at that park would be on till the end of the year so I guess we will have to wait till 2012 to revisit the place.

I’m thinking of bringing the kids to Punggol park one of these day or maybe even to Sembawang Park.

Any recommendations of parks to visit?
