Writer’s Workshop- 10 Reasons I’m glad it’s Autumn
Autumn is one of the seasons that I don’t get to personally experience here in the tropics. The only weather we get is either hot and wet or just simply hot. It’s summer all year around except during the typhoon and heavy rain season.
I remember when I was back in Uni in Australia I did get to experience the four seasons. I loved autumn as
- It is not as cold as winter and much cooler than the hot summer.
- I get to go shopping and wear a new wardrobe of clothes.
- I get to see the changes in colors from green to a hue of bright red and orange.
- I can enjoy walking in the park and hear the crackling of the dried leaves as we step on them.
- I get to plan what to do for the upcoming holiday season.
- I can dress up during Halloween and go trick and treat.
- I get to taste the different seasonal foods like pumpkin soup.
- It signifies that half the year is over and that very soon we will be meeting up with the rest of the family during Christmas.
- I am refreshed after the summer break.
- I don’t sweat as much and have more energy to do what I want during the day.

Hi Dominique!
Oh wow! What a coincidence! I don’t think I’ll be wearing the ring for now as it needs to be polished after some time being locked up in the jewelry box.. plus I’m also worried it might scratch my boy so, yeah, it’s definitely staying in the box for now. Thanks for hopping over and commenting!
Btw, when I was in Sydney years ago for holiday, it was autumn too. Love it and totally agree on #10. No sweat and walking around like everywhere is one giant aircond place! ;P

I like your #2 point-never thought of that one, but it is true. It is nice to be able to wear a variety of clothes throughout the year.

Hi there! I enjoyed your post. I do like autumn but I didn’t choose this prompt partially because I don’t feel rapturous about it. Especially since back to school means homework headaches and now that I have a ninth grader who doesn’t understand pre algebra, it definitely feels more stressful than summer! Thank you for sharing your enjoyable post with us.

@Paula,
we don’t have 3 month long summer vacations here.. so the kids are in school all year round. Our school vacations are broken up to 1 week in March, 4 weeks in June, 1 week in Sept and 6 weeks in Nov/Dec…so it’s less stressful for the parent ( in my opinion).
