Today I will be writing on Prompt No 2 – Before I was a Mom
Before I was a Mom….
- I could have uninterrupted sleep every night and sleep in on the weekends.
- Have a much shorter “to complete” list to get through every day.
- Need not have to share my food with my kids when we go out. ( I still do not get it why food on my plate seems so much more appealing then what they have ordered for themselves)
- Worried much lesser about our financial situation and our financial standing in future.
- The floor was so much cleaner as it was not scattered with toys as often as it is now. The house was much neater too.
- Had a much better looking body and need not have to desperately try to lose the baby weight after each birth.
- could travel alone with R and need not have to pack so many things along. Now with three kids most holidays have to be planned with them in mind.
- Had much more free $$ to spend as and when I wished.
- Could have my own car to drive around and need not have to worry about sending the kids to school and fetching them on time.
- I did not do as much cooking and baking as I am doing currently.
Even though there are so many things which I had to give up and added responsibilities that have come along with motherhood it is still one of the best things that have happened to me. I never regretted my decision to become a mother.

You know what I just thought of to add to my post…I never ate a dinner cold before I was a mom let alone having to share it!
@Erin,
talk about cold dinners.. it seems to be a norm in our household as it takes about 1-2hrs just to get the kids all fed every night.
I love your list – so very true. I had a real chuckle reading it. Thanks.
Thanks too for reading my article on Sarcasm – everyone seems to agree that it’s a pretty cheap way of getting a laugh. Susan xx
The food sharing thing is pretty annoying. Mine are always trying to hustle drinks off me too. You’d think I’d be much slimmer. I guess I make up for it by eating cookies in the pantry while they aren’t looking!
Visiting from Mama Kat’s…what is it about mama’s plate that makes kids need to eat our food? Mine do that too! lol
Ahh, yes. Once we become moms we also become taxi/bus drivers…only we don’t get paid for it. That’s okay because if we did we would just spend it on more activities to drive our kids to. Great post.
