Mom Tip Tuesday: Driving the Kids

Having kids in the car  can end up on two different scenarios for me.

#1- The kids enjoying themselves, laughing and talking among themselves.

#2- Kids end up with a shouting match with each other when one starts making ‘smart remarks’ at the other.

It can be nerve wreaking trying to concentrate on the road when there is a screaming or crying match ongoing in the car. It is really difficult to play referee while driving.

Here is how I try to minimize scenario  #2 from happening and tackle driving with my 3 kids.

Mom Driving Tips

1. Place each kid in a different row in the car starting with the oldest in the last row and the baby upfront.  ( Our car has 3 rows of seat being a MPV)

2. Ensure that all kids are adequately fed before the trip or have one or two candies to chew on during the journey.

3. If possible get them so tired out that 2/3 end up sleeping in the car and there will be no one left to start a bickering match with.

4. If all fail bring out the handy ” hand” (cane)as a deterrent.
