Veggie Tales Larry’s Missing Music IPAD App Review

After recently reviewing Veggie tales- Robin Good and his not so Merry Men I was glad to hear that VeggieTales now has an IPAD App for kids which I could review. The kids were thrilled to try out this app and loved the crazy story lines which they made using it.
Presented by Step-by-Story, VeggieTales: Larry’s Missing Music! is the latest reading readiness mobile app from Playful Owl.
aimed at helping kids aged 2-6 or pre-reading to early reading. The program focuses on helping the child in sentence formation, learning of story sequencing and structure through short stories formed through a set of four pictures.

There are 3 sections which you can try. Play, Make and Silly.
Play– The 4 picture sequence story which was selected under make a movie is played.
Make– Create your own story
Silly- A random sequence of 4 pictures if drawn for you and the story is told.

My boys enjoyed placing together random set of pictures to form a silly story and playing it so that the character reads out the short story which was just made with animation.
You just have to watch the clip below to see it in action.
My Thoughts: I feel that this is a good medium for introducing making sentences and story sequences to kids. It makes learning sequencing fun and show’s how easy it is to write a story. This App does make a good story starter even for older kids. I tried out this app with my 8 yr old too even though it is recommended for 2-6 yrs old. Through using this app I was able to explain more to him about story sequencing and that by changing the order of the photos a whole new story could be created.
You can purchase this app at the App Store for $2.99
