Robin Good & His Not So Merry Men is the first Veggie Tales DVD which the kids and I have watched. I was thrilled to receive a copy of this DVD to review along with some Veggie Bandages. The DVD came in handy in teaching the kids more about the grace of GOD during this lenten season.
Newly released in March 2012 for Easter this DVD features Robin Good “aka Larry the Cucumber” who fund raise from the rich so he can give to the poor. A greedy Prince starts stealing the townspeople’s hams, donations are down and Robin’s band of merry men desert him to give robbing a try. Can Robin overcome his hurt, show his friends what’s right and restore the townspeople’s of Betlingham hope? What do you think can he do it?
My take on the DVD
We really enjoyed watching Robin Good together with the bonus features of another great story about Lenny & the Lost Birthday.
Lenny was upset as he thought everyone had forgotten his birthday on March 1 but in fact he got the dates wrong as it was a Leap Year and there was an extra day. ( February 29th) His mother explained Leap Year to him and told him that his birthday has yet to arrive and his worries were unfounded.
The Guide for Handling Hurt really comes in useful in explaining to the boys how they can handle Hurt. Prayer , communication and being kind to others are emphasized and these are Christian values which I do want my kids to develop.
In all it was a really enjoyable show. The silly songs with Larry featuring Bubble Rap had the boys signing and bobbing along to the tune.
Here’s a short trailer of the DVD for your preview.
