My thoughts

This was a traditional good guy vs bad guy game. It was really entertaining for the kids. They loved watching the short video clips at the end after completing the whole mission and getting through all the 28 levels. The app makes a good time filler activity or for a short downtime for kids after returning home from school.

You can purchase this app from the iTunes Store. for $0.99 or from Amazon

IPAD Review- Elfishki™ and The Peformance in the Fountain

Elfishki and The Performance in the Fountain is the latest in the series of Elfishki interactive storybooks. Released on the 1st of August 2012 this is the third book from the Elfishki that we have read. The kids and I read Elfishki and the Unwelcomed Guest and Elfishki and the Giant cake earlier this year when they were released and we really enjoyed them.

The Plot

This  book is about the little mermaid Rinka who dreams of becoming a circus performer. She tries to impress her teachers and classmates with her tricks, but they didn’t fancy her antics and was chided for it . When school holidays begin, Rinka’s mother sends her to the old cat, Mr. Thomas, who agrees to look after Rinka while she swims in the city fountain. Rinka never guessed that a little pool in the center of the city can provide her with a new, very interesting opportunity as a circus performer.

My thoughts on this App

This story is more suited for older kids then the suggested age range. The questions asked per page were more challenging as compared to the earlier books and my 5yr old had some difficulty answering the questions. The 8yr old however didn’t have any problem understanding and answering the questions posed. Both the boys loved listening to the story and trying out all the interactive features. I love the graphics on the page and the story line that working hard does pay off in the end.

The interactive game this time had different difficulty levels – easy or hard. I find that this is an excellent addition to the app as it caters to kids of different ability levels. Both the boys had fun playing the I spy game and finding all the sea creatures which were hidden in the page.
If you are interested to try out this app with your kids you can purchase this app for $3.99 from iTunes
