Elly The Children’s Outfitters- Bellio Shoes and Elly Outfit Review

Package from Elly

Last week we received this lovely package from Elly. I requested to review their Red Monkey shoes as Tiger girl loves the brightly coloured shoes. I was pleasantly surprised when  Audrey  (one of the owners)  said they will be sending one of their dresses along with the shoes for Tiger girl to try out and would be delivering the items by courrier.

The shoes and lovely lady bug printed matching dress that was in the packages.

My model- Tiger girl

shoe

Tiger girl was immediately dressed in the outfit and took around the neighbourhood to try out the shoes.

It fitted her like a glove and didn’t fall off even though she was climbing up and down the stairs and was even running in it.

The sole was really soft as they were made of Swedish organic leather which had been hand sewn. on stitching of the monkey face on the shoes were excellent as I could not spot any stay threads on the shoes which I have seen on other soft sole shoes which Tiger girl had before.

As you can see in the picture on the right,  Tiger girl can wriggle her feet easily in the shoe. The shape and design of the shoe gives her maximum comfort while wearing them.

The  floral ladybug dress was a bit long for her as it’s for girls age 2-3 yrs old. I requested for a 2T as most of the clothes she is wearing is about that size.  I love the fabric and the cutting of the dress. The sleeves hug her shoulders and do not fall off even when she runs around. The material doesn’t crumple easily even after washing it.

If you are looking for Bellio shoes of Elly clothes you can pop by their shop or find out more about their products on their  website or facebook page

Veggie Tales Larry’s Missing Music IPAD App Review

Larry's missing music

After recently reviewing Veggie tales- Robin Good and his not so Merry Men I was glad to hear that VeggieTales now has an IPAD App for kids which I could review.  The kids were thrilled to try out this app and loved the crazy story lines which they made using it.

Presented by  Step-by-Story, VeggieTales: Larry’s Missing Music!  is the  latest reading readiness mobile app from Playful Owl.

aimed at helping kids aged 2-6 or pre-reading to early reading. The program focuses on helping the child  in sentence formation, learning of story sequencing and structure through short stories formed through a set of four pictures.

1st screen

There are 3 sections which you can try. Play, Make and Silly.

Play– The 4 picture sequence story which was selected under make a movie is played.

Make– Create your own story

Silly-  A random sequence of 4 pictures if drawn for you and the story is told.

My boys enjoyed placing  together random set of pictures to form a silly story and playing it so that the character reads out the short story which was just made with animation.

You just have to watch the clip below to see it in action.

My Thoughts: I feel that this is a good medium for introducing making sentences and story sequences to kids. It makes learning sequencing fun and show’s how easy it is to write a story.  This App does make a good story starter even for older kids.  I tried out this app with my 8 yr old too even though it is recommended for  2-6 yrs old.  Through using this app I was able to explain more to him about story sequencing and that by changing the order of the photos a whole new story could be created.

You can purchase this app at the App Store for $2.99
