Scrambled Eggs and Chocolate Chip Cookies on a Friday
This week being the first week of the school holidays I decided that it was time to start him on some cooking lessons now that he is already eight. I bought him his own frying pan and we started off with the first lesson~ Frying an egg.

Monkey boy decided on scrambled eggs as it was easier to manage as compared to a sunny side one.

Monkey boy has been craving for chocolate chip cookies so we decided to make some that afternoon.

Have your child been busy in the kitchen also?

Today K has cooking class and they made lovely Castengel. Too bad he wouldn’t let me try those ha ha..sigh..he finished most of the cookie by himself. But at least he gave one piece to his brother this time 🙂

Wonderful to see children in the kitchen, learning very useful skills.

@Raymonde,
Great that one of your children is a chef..that’s a really good ambition. I’m training all up to take over the kitchen when they reach their teenage years so I can relax a bit 🙂

Good for you teaching your boy to cook… I have done the same with my son, he is 13 now and really developing into quite a good cook and most importantly of all he loves doing it.

I have started teaching my 5-year old daughter the basics of cooking and food preparation. She would get the ingredients for me and help me prepare meals. It is nice that even with modern technology, kids can still be interested with spending time with their parents to cook.
