How to make a resume? Have you been asking yourself this question? I did when I was apply for the job as a teacher back then in 2000.

Having a good resume is the essential first step to landing you an interview. It’s a key stepping stone to one’s progression into the corporate world. Therefore it is important to make your resume outstanding.

Here are some  handy tips which I applied that landed me the job

  1. Use easily readable fonts and print size which is easy on the eye.
I chose Arial font size 13pt as it was large enough and clear enough to read.
  2. Put your most important information at the top.
As the job I was apply for was for a teaching position, I placed my experience as a relief teacher first as it was very relevant  and showed that I had some experience teaching.
  3. Customize the resume by adding only relevant and needed information.
By putting in only information that is needed your resume is more focused and increases the likelihood  of it being selected.
  4. Don’t forget the essentials.
Your contact details are a must. It is advisable to put it in a slightly bigger font size and bold to make it stand out.
