I am pretty happy painting and teaching art, taking a few art courses, playing golf, bridge, and bunco, reading my books on my Kindle, and watching good films.

I think I’d probably end up doing voluntary work, possibly driving the local community bus.

I’d also go walking more and I’d love to explore the inland waterways of Britain.

Love your list! but you’re much braver than I because I would never want to learn to fly a plane. Yikes!

This is my favorite 10 list by far, as I love to learn all sorts of skills too.

I definitely want to continue my French… and I do want to polish up my Chinese. Yup, want to take a Photography course, too.

    1. Dominique

Your photography is really good I’m sure you will certainly reach expert status if you undergo a photography course. I’m still a novice in photography. Maybe next time we can try doing up blog post in Chinese and French..that will be really cool with English translation below of course :P

      1. Buckeroomama

I’m shooting from the hip (no pun intended) at the moment and there is SO much to learn!

I don’t even know how to type in Chinese… do you? I haven’t composed anything in Chinese since grade school (!) and there are so many characters that I don’t know. :)

I type Chinese on the PC by using Hanyu Pinyin conversion to Chinese words.. or the easiest is to use Google translate and select the words which I want to use. However it is really so much easier to write Chinese on paper. Nowadays there are electronic Eng-Chi dictionary..so it’s easy to search for characters which I have forgotten or seldom use.

I agree that there is so much to learn in photography.. I’m still in two minds on whether to get a DSLR due to it’s weight and price.. maybe make do with my Sony cybershot first.

          1. Buckeroomama

It’s such a pain for me to type in pinyin and then look for the right character… I wish I have one of those writing pads where I write in Chinese and it “recognizes” the characters and transfers automatically to the computer.

Get the DSLR –so worth it. Yes, it’s a bit more bulky to carry around and not as discreet when you’re trying to sneak a shot, but ooh, you will love it and the weight is a minor issue. :)

There is such a thing.. writing pad for Chinese characters.. maybe you can check out the Computer mall at Mongkok.. we normally get our PC stuff from there when we are back in HK. I’ll seriously consider getting a DSLR once I can ditch the diaper bag and Tiger girl is 3 to 4yrs old.

I don’t get why reading an e-book is faster than a regular book. If you have time to read e-books, why wouldn’t you be able to read regular books? I’d like to take a photography class too–think it would be fun. I’m doing this prompt next week.

    Stopping by from Writer’s Workshop.

    1. Dominique

I find I can scroll through the book easier in E-book version as it’s extremely difficult to read a paperback or hardcover with a 1yr old constantly trying to wrestle the book away from your hand. Also for certain books like kids book the pages turn automatically and there is accompanying audio so I can actually hear the book being read.. really free up my hands to handle the kids.

  8. Blond Duck

Popped in from Mama Kat’s! I did the flower one. Any good tips on e-books? I’m just now getting into them.

  9. Arnebya @whatnowandwhy

The plane and the car…whoo! You wouldn’t have me as competition, that’s for sure. But the languages and instrument I’ll agree with wholeheartedly. The one thing from your list that I do now is the reading. It’s one of the few things I purposely take time for. On the train, the bus, at home while cooking, relaxing in the evening, lunch breaks at work, on my lap under my desk while pretending to do work at work…

  10. JDaniel4's Mom

What great jobs! You so need to go to school to learn to make the cake so, we all can have a sample.

    1. Dominique

      @JDaniel4′s Mom,
I’ve already learned how to make that Oreo Cheesecake.. in fact that’s the one I recently baked for the kids. I want to learn more complicated bakes like Mousse cakes, macaroons and other fancy stuff.

  11. Sue

    I like your style!
Hope you get to ALL of these…
