Ultimate wants this Spring
I was pondering about which prompt to write upon this year. In the end I decided on writing on the 10 things I would like this spring.
In no particular order.
1. Fresh Flowers
Flowers always brighten up my day. It was great receiving roses for valentines . I love smelling the aroma of fresh flowers in the house. It is really uplifting. I guess flowers will be making their presence in our house more often
2. New Clothes
I really could do with a wardrobe overhaul. Many of the pieces I have are dated and I’m getting tired of wearing the same nursing tops. Why can’t they have more trendy wear or other breastfeeding friendly clothes. Going shopping with my girlfriends would certainly help me pick up more suitable clothes which would not make me look frumpy and more shape fitting for my body.
3. A Holiday

I would like to take a few days off and relax at a spa resort sans kids. It would be great to finally have more time to myself and a good massage. However I’m not too hopeful that we will be able to leave the baby behind and she is super sticky.
4.Japanese Food
![]() |
I recently purchased several Japanese cookbooks. I intend to spend the time learning how to make the various dishes which the kids enjoy eating. It would certainly help to reduce the amount of money we spend eating out each week at various Japanese restaurants.
5. A slimer figure
I’m working my way back into shape after baby #3. Hopefully by June I the scales would show much prettier numbers and I will be able to fit into dresses I wore for our 10th Wedding Anniversary.
6. Well behaved kids
I know that this is a long shot. Just getting them to stay seated in one place is hard enough. It would be great that for once we can all sit down and finish dinner at the dining table without having me to chase after any of the kids.
7.New CDs
The CDs in the car haven’t been updated in years. It’s high time that I purchase a few new K-Pop CDs to swap out the old CDs from our 10 disc player.
8. More Moola
It would be great if I could grab a few more writing gigs or other stuff which I can do while taking care of the kids 24/7. That would give me more validation for splurging on the various pastas and fancy food items I pick up from the supermarket. I’m so loving trying out new recipes and some of the ingredients don’t really come cheap.
9. A nap
Getting sufficient sleep is almost impossible with this girl who wakes up to be nursed every 2 hrs. I’m really pining for the day where she can sleep for at least 4 hrs straight. I really need the 6-8hrs uninterrupted sleep to fully recharge.
10. More Interaction
I would like to spend more time to build on the existing relationships I have with family and friends. To strengthen our bonds and to create more memories that we would cherish.
This post was inspired by Mama Kat’s weekly almost world famous Writer’s Workshop.
It’s also my entry for Alpha-Thursday ( The letter U)

New recipes sound fabulous! I wish we could eat out more but the kids won’t sit still so it is NOT relaxing. Plus we live too far from civilization. The sushi looks delish!

@Heidi,
My 3 kids too can’t sit still while dining out.. we have to take turn eating and constantly remind them to stay in their seats while eating out.. that’s why we choose mostly Japanese dining as it’s the kids favourite. They will sit longer if they eat the stuff they like.

I especially like the last one–that’s what I want most too!

@JDaniel’s Mom,
I hope you get your wish.. I’m sure we mum’s could really have a breather if our kids were well behaved most of the time. I’m still crossing my fingers.

Hi, I am doing the MamaKat’s writing workshop, too….and we certainly have a lot in common when it comes to spring must haves!!
March 4, 2011 @ 1:40 am
How funny we had some of the same things on our lists (our kids to behave and a nap). I guess those are common wishes for moms. I love fresh flowers.

Good goals, all!
=)

I only have one wish–whirled peas.
March 4, 2011 @ 3:32 am
Great list! I would love to have many of these things this Spring as well.
March 4, 2011 @ 4:46 am
Wonderful goals, especially the sleep – but with three children, one of them a new baby, you may need to hire help, just to make one night of uninterrupted sleep a possibility. Good luck!

#6 might have to be on my revised list. i only have one, and she is 15 months. we call her the tiny terrorist. i threaten her with her life but it does no good. i never knew someone so small could make me feel so powerless. love your must haves.
stopping by from mama kats!

Nice list of great things to do this spring. Thinking about a list of my own, they would include most of the same things you have.
March 5, 2011 @ 6:12 pm
Totally agree with you on every item except for #6 unless I can count the Mama and the Husband as my kids. 🙂
March 6, 2011 @ 12:33 am
Although long past the age of raising young children, I relate to a number of the dreams on your list. And somehow, years from now you will recall these current years as amazing & know that the future young adults you gaze upon got to that point due, in large part, because of what you did. In the meantime, hope you find a little nap and a bunch of flowers to get you through the day…

Love your list ~ and I’m totally with you on the flowers. I was looking at them just today and trying to justify the expense. I like your reasons!
March 6, 2011 @ 9:45 pm
Perfect List and a nice reference for you throughout spring!
March 8, 2011 @ 6:48 am
I share some of these ultimate wishes with you…although the breast feeding one is totally all yours girl!
This was a thoughtful stop on our little journey through Alphabe-Thursday’s letter ‘U’.
I like your unique slant on this letter.
