New water bottles purchased for the kids

New water bottles purchased for the kids

I have been doing a lot of  shopping lately.  I’ve been visiting the websites like  Amazon, iHerb and Taobao  a few online shops very frequently. You can say that I’ve already completed purchasing all the Christmas presents  that I wish to get this year for the family.

This year I’ve decided to start shopping early so that I can make sure that all my purchases arrive before we leave for our year end holidays.

I bought these new Lock and Lock water bottles  which I ordered from Taobao ( Shown above) for the kids. I love that they there is no drinking straw and really easy to clean. I used to struggle with cleaning the kids water bottles as they came with those irreplaceable straws which collected a lot of dirt and were impossible to clean at places.  These water bottles  have a small sprout so that water doesn’t  spurt all over  or spill easily when the kids drink from it.  There is also a cover so that the spouts are kept clean.

Customised Family braclets

Customised Family bracelets

Adeline’s Loft  is the place that I go to whenever I’m seeking to expand my jewelry collection.  I love that she is able to customize orders and makes really lovely pieces.

This year I wanted something special and meaning for the family. I got Adeline to customize a set of bracelet for each one of us.  Each member of the family has a bracelet made in his/her favourite colors and there are elements in the bracelet which are unique to each individual and common as a family.

Each bracelet has a heart on it to symbolize  our love for each other and GOD.  The girl’s bracelet and mine have  pink hearts on it  while the boys have a silver heart like their dad’s one.

The word HOPE talks about our hope for our kids and for them to have hope for their own future while the 3 crosses on the adult bracelets represents the crosses that we have to bear for each kid.

What are your most recent favorite things?

Rock Climbing at The Rock School

The kids

The kids

Last weekend the kids were invited to The Rock School for a fun session of rock climbing . It has been  two years since they have been to the place and were happy to revisit it.

The previous visit  Tiger girl was less then two years old and she had to sit out on the activities. This time she was more then delighted to be able to take part alongside her brothers.

The  kids eagerly waited to participate in the day’s activities at the rock school that Sunday.  We chose the evening slot of 6.30-8.30 pm as we had Church in the morning and it clashed with their earlier time slot.   The timing was just nice as we could have a leisurely dinner at Hans before the kids went off rock climbing.

The place hasn’t changed a bit since the last time we were there. The only difference was that there were different instructors this time to guide the kids.

As we were there early the kids had a free rein of the place before the other kids attending the class arrived. They immediately took to the wall and started climbing all over.

There wasn’t any deviation from the previous play session that the boys had 2 years ago. The only difference what that there were different trainers and that they were taking part in this activity with other kids.

The kids started on scaling the walls after being briefed about the safety instructions.  Each of them had two rounds in the room before venturing outdoors to scale the walls there.

My 4 year old couldn’t wait to start on climbing the walls outside. She loves challenges and this was one of her most challenging physical challenge to date.

The kids were put into 3 different groups and each queued up for the different walls that they were assigned to based on their age group. (Yellow = Easy, Blue= Intermediate and Red= Advance)

Doggie boy did really well in his attempt to scale the wall. This time he managed to climb to the top of the blue wall effortlessly. It was a marked improvement as he only got half way in his previous attempt.

Being a seasoned  climber Monkey boy ascended the walls easily and managed to scale all three walls easily despite being given the difficult path for each wall.

Seeing her brothers climbing up the wall Tiger girl couldn’t wait to have her go at it also. She started off at the yellow wall  and moved on to the blue wall after getting use to climbing it.

It was really amazing to see this 4 year old making her way steadily up the blue wall. She was the youngest of the group and the most daring one. It was a milestone achievement for her when she made to the top of the wall.

There was a mini ceremony at the end of the session where the kids were given their progress cards.

It was a fun and enjoyable session for the kids and they were totally exhausted when we reached home.

If you are keen to let your children try rock climbing do check out their  upcoming Rock challenge.  (Details are in the poster below)
