Biannual Blogathon Bash
Last year I joined the Blogathon and this year I’m happy that I manged to sign up in time this year to participate again. My goals for this year is different from last year.

This year I am aiming to do the following for the blog over this weekend.

1. Clear up all broken links on the blog.

2. Create my blogging calandar for the month of July.

3. Take part in 2 mini challenges.

4.  Update all my blogs to make sure they are fully updated.

It has been a busy crazy year for me and things are getting  rather busy here on Dominique’s Desk. I hope to be able to pick up the slack and re align my direction for this blog since I’ve decided to slice it and shift some of the topics like travel and photography over to the new blog- Rachel Dominique.

What are you doing this weekend?

Kimchi and Pickles on a Friday

Kimchi and pickles

Kimchi and pickles

During the past week we were on holiday in Jeju island , Korea. It was our first time over at that island and our 2nd trip just with Tiger girl.  It was great to be able to indulge in Korean food like Ginseng Chicken and Bulgogi.

The unique thing about Korean cuisine is that there are many side dishes served at every meal. Kimchi and an assortment of pickles are what we were served before our main meal came.

Every single restaurant that we went too served kimchi. It is a staple side dish for Korean and how spicy it is varies from restaurant to restaurant.  I personally don’t really like my food too spicy and had to pass on the kimchi served at a few restaurants we visited as it was too spicy for my liking.

Some time we were given sea salt to dip chicken in before it was to be eaten.  On occasions there were bean sprouts, tofu and even a mini fishcake/pancake which were served as side dishes.

It was quite easy to settle Tiger girl’s meals as she would happily eat the non spicy side dishes with rice. Do you like  eating the side dishes when you go out for Korean food?

What is your favourite Korean dish?
