Writer’s Workshop: Enjoying Motherhood

 Writers Workshop: Enjoying Motherhood

Being a mom is one of the best thing that has happened to me You know you enjoy being a mom when you wake up every day looking forward to seeing the smiles on your little ones faces.

I am happy even though you are extremely exhausted having only 3 or 4 hours of sleep the night before as the little one refuses to sleep through the night. I clamber out of bed even  though you really would like more time in it as you know that you have to prepare breakfast for the little one and start on the daily routines.

I become a “cool” person as   messes and kids outbreaks  do not bother Me that much. When they occur you just drop whatever you are doing , clean up the place or straighten out the kid before resuming the activity you were doing before you were interrupted. Yeah.. I’m cool like that!! I’ve figured out it’s no point getting all worked up by the little ones and their antics after spending 10 yrs+ in the education field.  I don’t need any more worry lines added to my face.

I incorporate the timetable and schedules of my little ones first before assigning other activities which you would like to fill up your schedule with other stuff which I would like to do. It has been working well and I do intend to carry on this way.

I get really excited when I can buy things at a discount for the kids. During our recent trip to Korea I managed to get these four pair of shoes for the kids at $75.

Holidays which I plan have the kids interests in mind and you are happy when you see your kids having fun playing. The best thing is that they insist that you be with them and play with them together. I’m savouring the hugs and kisses that they shower on me.

” I love mummy” , ” I really enjoyed myself” and ‘ I like this”  are sentences which really melt my heart.

A nice post, Dominique. :) That is a pretty park behind you.

I enjoy being a dad, grandpa, and greatgrandfather.
And the play time with the kids is what I like the most.

I love being a mom. I love when they are learning a new skill and are so proud of themselves but still look to me for approval and validation.

Your post really inspired me. Im in the stage of those sleepless nights caring for the baby.reading your post makes me more excited towards her growing up. Cant wait to hear her say ” i love you, mommy”.

Love your post. I can’t wait ’til I hear “I love Mommy” from my Little Man… he’s still too young yet, but just the word “Mommy” melts my heart, so I know what you mean. And I just love the look on his face when he wakes up and comes out to greet me in the morning… or when I wake up to his cute little face in mine (if he gets up first) with a “Mommy!” and a kiss.

    Thanks for sharing!

    Stopped by from Mama Kat’s

I love being a mom, grandma and great grandmother. There is no greater moment than the one right after birth and you get to witness the miracle of creation. I cried tears of joy and felt so euphoric. I love many memories I have had with my children and hope to continue having special moments. I love their hugs, their confidences, their advise seeking and accomplishments. Many moments are truly heart warming so I cannot list them all. I am truly blessed and so are you! Many have been given the gift and do not realize, but we do..

Motherhood has given me great joy. I’m so thankful & blessed for God giving this opportunity to me. Some of the most precious moments have been being apart of my children’s firsts, like first steps…first words, ….If I had been working outside the home & had them in daycare then those moment would have been taken from me. I’m glad this was given to me.

My best moment of being a mom is getting to be a grandma! I LOVE LOVE LOVE that part!! :)

    I enjoyed reading your article.

    1. I do enjoy being a mother but I’d enjoy it more if I get times when I can replenish fully and do things on my own. Or with my spouse or just with a friend.

    2. I love how easy it is to love them. Just by sitting down with them at the table and eating a snack together is fun for them.
An impromptu play when they get out of the car.
My best part is the hugs and the I love you mommy, you are the best. I wish so badly I could record these.

    Happy Thursday!

I enjoy being a mom when I don’t long for some time off.
My best moment is when the kids are all around me, talking and telling stories.

  12. Mimi

It’s good to be a mom. I’m a mom of 4 and I love it when my youngest comes up to me, kisses me and tells me he loves me.

  13. Regina

It’s extremely exhausting (yours is mine x 3) but also well worth every drop of sweat :)

The best part is that no matter naughty your kid may be, it still melts our heart when they smile even when you are angry! :D

Am not yet a mom, but I am a doting aunt. I love buying stuff for my nephews also, specially those that can be used for school. That makes me happy, and I guess they’re happy too :-)
