Writers Workshop- Zero Points for Answering These
There are many things which one can/should ask a spouse. However certain things, through experience, I know better not to ask least end up feeling frustrated and annoyed by the response or lack of response to it.
- What shall we have for dinner?
Answer : “Umm.. you decide..” - Do you want cake or pudding for dessert?
Answer: ” Anything.” - What shall I wear? This or that ?
Answer : “Umm.. you decide..” - Shall we go on a holiday?
Answer: ” Ok.. you go and plan for it!” - Can you handle the kids while I clear up the dinner plates?
Answer: ” Umm..why don’t I clear up instead.. you handle the kids”
- How should we handle this? (referring to one of the kids misbehaving)Answer: ” You decide.. you are more experience in this.”
- Can you take care of the kids while I have a Girl’s Night Out ?
Answer: ” Okay..but you must bring the baby along. You know she doesn’t stick to me. ”
- Do you know where ( a certain item) is?
Answer: ” Umm… ” - Do you want to go and watch a musical?
Answer: ” Umm…”
-
Do I look fat?
Answer: ” Ummm..”
Do you get similar replies
from your spouse?

Fortunately, my darling husband gives me good responses to most thing I ask. Your Q&A was rather funny, though. =D

They are all cut from the same mold! Stupidly I ask him every night, “What do you want for dinner?” and every night I get the same answer, “What do we have?” .

I love getting to be the one to plan holidays. My husband finds the best deals for the vacations I plan.

I don’t have kids and I don’t cook – DH does. So he’s the one who decides on dinner. I don’t ask about the other things! Just Do It! {:-Deb

Love how he tells you to take the baby with you like the poor thing is lost without you. I told mine to suck it up, I have to fly solo all the time with the kids so he does too!

Oh-uh, you touched my hobby horse. Whenever “they” do that, I say, “I asked you a question, and I like an answer.” My family has learned that it’s easier to answer, because I won’t let go till they have at least made an attempt. (I also qualify with, “Um,” or “I don’t know” is not an answer.”)

This made me laugh. It has to be something chromosonal…there’s no way that husbands all across the land could be taught to have the same responses!
Thanks for a really fun link this week.
Hope to Z you again soon!
