TGIF~Aloha Fun 5QF

寄件者 June2011

Yesterday R and I celebrated our 10th Wedding Anniversary. Initially I wanted to go out for dinner however after thinking for awhile I decided that it would certainly be easier to dine in. Most of the time when we are dining out R and I have to take turn “walking the baby” as she gets  bored very easily and would start shouting and screaming in her highchair.

I decided to cook a Japanese spread for him and managed to complete  cooking within 1.5hrs ( including distractions from Tiger girl). We had chawamushi, agedashi tofu, tempura brinjal and breaded chicken with rice. For drinks I had it simple with green tea and black sesame pudding for dessert.

1. What is your favorite summer time activity?

Spending time with the kids.

2. Do you have one laundry soap you stick to, or do you buy whatever’s on sale?
I normally buy stuff that’s on sale and don’t really stick to one brand.

3. What is your favorite dinner to make in the summer?

What I normally cook for dinner.

One dish meals. I normally cook Japanese or Chinese as the kids love theses two cusines.

4. Do you have any talents?

Monkey Boy’s 7th birthday cake

Yes. I can play the piano and violin, cook and bake. As you can see above the last 3D cake I made was for Monkey boy’s birthday in March. I’m now planning what to bake for Tiger girl when she turns one this September.

5. If you could instantly be an expert in something, what would it be? Why?

From  photoexpress

It would certainly be financial investment and growing our kitty fund so it won’t be so hard on R who is currently our sole breadwinner.

My questions this week
When you are out alone dining with the kids what would you do if one of them suddenly tells you that he needs to use the toilet while you eat?

Do you let him go alone or drop the food and lug all of them to the toilet together?

Stalk Hop Friday

Summer Fun – Aloha Friday

Taken during out last trip to Cebu in 2009

In a few days we will be heading for a week long vacation at the Beach. It will be daily trips to the swimming pool and building sandcastles on the beaches.

I’m halfway down my To-Do-List with only the  book reviews,  short series and kids bake session( I’ll postpone this till when we are back from the holidays) to be done.  I have a perfectly good excuse for this as I’m waiting for my new Kenwood Mixer to arrive.

After much consideration I decided to go with the Kenwood KMO030  Timed Mixer as it had all the features which I needed.  I can’t wait to try out this cool kitchen gadget with the kids.  R generously offered to sponsor one for me as our 10th Wedding Anniversary present. I love him to bits. I’ll certainly put this baby to good use churning out great bakes/ dishes for him and the kids.

1. If you had to choose, how would you prefer to choose to spend money…on landscaping or a pool?

Toa Payoh Park
It would certainly be landscaping.  I’m not so into having our own pool . A garden would certainly be nice.

2. (Scott likes to get things stirred up…) Death penalty, yay or nay?

Yay. For certain crimes it’s the only punishment which would fit.

3. What’s the worst thing your kid has gotten into when you turned your back/blogged/showered/blinked?

Bringing home some cooking oil

You see the big bottle of cooking oil in the photo above?  Now imagine the same big bottle being spilled on the kitchen  floor by a toddler and seeing him literally “Swimming in oil”.  That happened once with Doggie boy and from that day onwards I’m never purchased  cooking oil is bottles that were greater then 1L and have it well hidden in the kitchen cabinet.

4. How often do you REALLY go to the dentist?
Gretchen at the Dentist

We go to the dentist every six months. I make appointments in advance as I believe in the kids and I taking good oral care.  In fact we just went to the dentist this week for a check up.

5. What is your favorite animal (doesn’t have to be a pet-type animal)?

Panda Bear Display

I love bears. However I’m more into the stuff toy version then the actual live one.

My Questions this week

( My diaper bag is busted so I need another replacement)

1) What bag is good to use like a diaper bag that is lightweight, sturdy and lots of compartments and easy to bring about?

2) What bag did you carry when you have to bring all your kids out?

I would like to thank all who gave me all the lovely suggestions on how to cook fish last week. I will try them out with the boys once we are back from our vacations.
