Toy Story 3

This weekend we finally managed to catch the movie Toy Story 3.  Ryan and Roy both watched the afternoon show with us. It was the first time that we brought them to the cinema to watch a show.  Both of them had booster seats to sit on as they were not tall enough to be able to watch the show from their seats.  The storyline was quite predictable with Woody saving the toys from destruction.

There are a few new characters being introduced in this installment of Toy story- Ken & Barbie and the fuzzy pink bear (villian) Lotso who even at the last moment still had a stone heart and refused to help the toys when they were facing the burning furnace at the incinerator.

The graphics and animation in the  show were  superb and the plot much better then Despicable Me.

The boys can relate with Buzz Lightyear as we do have this toy at home and they play with it occassionally.

Have you watch any movies with your kids lately?

Weekend Reflections- Despicable Me

WeekendReflections

This weekend we caught the new Pixar 3D animated movie – ” Despicable Me”. At first look Ryan thought the yellow little characters look like the Mighty Beanz toys that he recently was gifted by Uncle Oliver.

Even though this show was classified as a G-rated show  I do not feel that the jokes and violence inside are suitable for kids to watch.  We didn’t bring the boys to watch the show as we still feel that they are not able to sit through a full length movie at their age. Maybe when they are 5 and 8 they will be able to watch their first movie in the cinema with us.

The story revolves around Gru and his plot to steal the moon. From an early age he had always been fascinated with traveling to the moon but his mother had not been very supportive of his ambition.

Gru delights in all things wicked. Armed with his arsenal of shrink rays, freeze rays, and battle-ready vehicles for land and air, he vanquishes all who stand in his way. Until the day he encounters the immense will of three little orphaned girls who look at him and see something that no one else has ever seen: a potential Dad.The world’s greatest villain has just met his greatest challenge: three little girls named Margo, Edith and Agnes.

The story ends well with him becoming a Dad to the three girls and the moon being place back in the sky after it was shrinked and brought back to earth by him.

I love the animation and the show was very action packed however I still wonder if it would be better if we had chosen to watch Toy story instead.
