Climbing Up and other Monday Memes
Encouraging Doggie boy from the side as he makes his way up the wall.
During the weekend we brought the boys rock climbing. Pamela, a fellow mom from SMB had kindly arranged for us to have an afternoon rock climbing at Beyond Acadamics. (I’ll do a detailed write up of the place later this week). The boys and I had fun rock climbing. R too did join in and it was a great family activity. It was the first time that R and I tried rock climbing.
I feel that it is important that we show the kids that it is possible to strive for things even though it looks difficult and may seem impossible. I believe that a kid learns better or is more motivated to do things if parents actively participate in it instead of just cheering by the sidelines.
Monkey boy managed to go all way up by himself but Doggie boy decided to call it a day halfway through. Nevertheless it was a good effort on his part to attempt the wall. Good job!! Maybe the next time we try rock climbing he would be able to progress further up the wall.
If you were wondering what Tiger girl was doing while the rest of the family was rock climbing she was busy playing with the kiddy rides which belonged to the kids who lived at that house. She enjoyed herself on both the car and the bike the whole 2.5hrs we were there.

How do you motivate your kids?
Another piece of motivational news came in today. Dominique’s Desk is now listed on an APP.
We can be found under the Kids and Parenting section of Singtel’s new Newsloop- Singapore News App which was launched last week. You can download the free app from Itunes.
A screenshot of how the blog looks on the app.
I’m looking forward to a boost in traffic and further growth for this blog.
As this week’s theme is on ‘Gone but nor forgotten’ I’m sharing a classic by the late Teresa Teng.

Congrats on the app, Dominique! I’ll be able to say “I knew here when…” 😉
The rock climbing looks like so much fun! You can tell Doggie Boy isn’t all that enthused by the picture… but at least he tried, right? 🙂
Beautiful song choice for this week – thanks for sharing! 🙂

@Stacy,
thanks. Yup.. it was great that Doggie Boy did try to climb the wall. Hopefully the next time round he would be more daring and scale greater heights.

Bravo~! Dominique^o^.
Was late to the rock climbing, hence miss you and your family. We had great time too. And totally agree with you saying about the parents’ participation in kids’ learning. This was truly my first to motivate my girl in action;).

Doing family-fun activities is always a blast. It not only always you to bond with your kiddoes, but it shows them just how cool mom & dad are. lol As always, it has been great fun to have you join us on Monday’s Music Moves Me. I’d like to say something about your selection, but for some reason it wouldn’t play. 🙁 Have a fabulous week, my friend! ^.^
